Hog Hunting In Arkansas

Hey guys, I have found hog sign on my lease. I have never hunted hogs and would like to hear from you guys with any advice you would like to give! I placed my climber there this morning and added a feeder with 40 lbs of persimmon flavored corn. What can I use to lure them in besides corn? I will be shooting a 30-06 until season ends. I then will switch to the bow.

Corn will be adequate to keep them coming in....once they find it.

Yeah... Corn will keep them coming around. Of course we don't have any of them fancy designer pigs down here in Florida, so I just use plain old corn.

Why switch to the bow?

There is a season for hunting pigs in that area

I will be shooting a 30-06 until season ends. I then will switch to the bow.

I'm assuming he means until general game season ends. Most, if not all states, regard hogs as feral wildlife, and there is no season. Mostly because game and fish departments do not want to be liable for them.

Guys, we can hunt hogs with a bow or whatever is in season. I would rather shoot them with a bow than a .22! The store down the road from my house sells corn with a persimmon flavor mixed in. Very effective on deer!
