Im currently doing my first rebuild/mod job on a norinico sks, I am kind of feeling around in the dark (what else is a first time for, if not to teach teach you a little of what your doing), but I do know that there is quite a nick in the crown of the gun, and i was wondering if one of these ptg crowning tools will perform suitably......

Crowning tools

I have recut, lapped, & polished about 100 rifle & pistol muzzle crowns in the past 25 years. Es you will special tools to do it properly. If you will contact me via private message i will tell you the part numbers & where to buy what you need rather quickly. Also i will need the cartridge you will be shooting to get the proper size pilot for the cutter. Will be glad to assist with your project.

I've used the Brownells tool with great results. Couple of tips - use a good cutting oil for each and every cut. Apply the oil initially and between cuts, between so you can clean any chips up. Helps to jam a cleaning patch down the muzzle a few inches to keep the chips out of the bore and action. Gently twist the cutter (hand pressure is fine with the Brownells T-handle) and stop when it chatters, skips or digs in a bit. Much better to go slow until you get a feel for things. :)
