bud's guns

Bud's is the best. I've ordered twice. They had the best price by far.
The shipping was super quick, and free.
Since they keep a list of FFL's in your area, I didn't need to send any info, they already had it.
They sent tracking info, so I knew when the gun arrived at my FFL.

I have never spoken to anyone there. I did it all online.

Ordered my Rock Island Armory 1911 from Bud's. Great deal. Great place to buy. Somebody just had a tizzy because they ordered in the holiday rush and were mad that their order didn't ship that week. People like that disgust me.

Ordered a Doublestar AR myself between Christmas and New Years....had my rifle within a week, and could have had it two days sooner if the FFL I used wasn't out of town. order was exactly as expected, price was unbeatable, and I will likely be doing more business with Buds in the future, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone (execept maybe somone I DISlike LOL)

I have bought about 5 or 6 firearms from them. The items that were in stock were shipped fast. I had two items that the website says was in stock but not really were so I didn't get those items. I would buy from them again no problem.

I would have to agree with Bud's shipping taking a long time. I've been waiting for over two weeks for the shotgun to arrive at my FFL, which should definitely not take this long.

No problems here. I think I have purchased three items from Bud's. Shipped to my FFL. I use personal checks which slows thing up but I am never in a hurry. Always pay the few extra bucks for insurance and know your FFL on your end as he may be able to go to bat for you in the event of a hitch.

I turned my FFL on to Buds. He is now on their list and happy to get $20 bucks for few minutes of processing the paperwork.

I think they (Bud's) are slammed (again) right now since AZ. They said they are playing catch-up.

I have ordered from one other dealer out of State once and directly from a manufacturer one time.

I have also used my LGS on occassion if it made sense.

All has gone well so far.

Bought my XD45 from them a few years back, no issues.
Recommended them to a friend the market for a 92fs, but for some reason, my FFL will no longer accept transfers from them. I don't know why.

Bud's is the biggest (and usually the cheapest) in broad-category internet gun sales (seems to me).

It follows that they'll have a glitch that they'll inadequately suck-up for on occasion.

I've bought from them and have no complaints.

Les

Never ordered on line from them because I live in Lexington. I've done business with them for over 20 years and have yet to have a problem.

Do you really not know why they stopped accepting transfers from Buds? The likely reason is they can't come close to the prices and they are trying to force their customers to buy from them...

Would love to hear more about the double star ARs, whoever's got them. Fit/finish good?

I ordered a Rem 700 SPS Tactical from Bud's last year - took them a few days to ship it, it was in stock when ordered and i used a credit card for instant payment.

I wouldn't say I waited long for it to ship, just not nearly as speedy as others' reviews suggested.

I would definitely buy from them again.

I have lost count of how many guns i have bought from buds. Call them however as opposed to ordering them on like to make sure it is in stock. Sometimes their postings can be wrong. They take care of issues fast. Remember you have to have a ffl to where the gun is shipped and they charge % for credit card orders. No shipping charge.

so far i am not impressed with buds--i ordered a firearm on Saturday (listed as "in stock") and they immediately charged my credit card.

it's now been five days and i have not heard a peep back form them.

i tried phoning them today, but they are very serious about not giving you a status update for 7 business days following the order (so next Tuesday for me)

i'm concerned because the firearm is now showing up as "out of stock" on their website AND i know for a fact that it has just gone out of production.

if buds really does sometimes list out of stock items as "in stock", that means that i do not know if i even HAVE a gun coming to me.

worse, this means added complication if i see one come up for sale in the meantime (do i buy or trust that buds will come through?)

so buds may be great, but right now (and until next Tuesday) i'm totally in the dark and $800 down. take roger's advice and only place your order over the phone.

I have bought a total of eight firearms from Bud's, always via the web site. Never a problem. I usually mail them a personal check to get the good price. Takes longer to process (mandatory five day hold on personal checks) but then the item is promptly shipped to FFL. A word of advice. Try to use an FFL from their preferred list, even if you have to pay a little more for the transfer. I was basically "disinvited" from receiving ordered guns from Bud's at my local LGS. This was someone I had done business with over several years and made about six purchases. I was told they were in the gun selling business and not just the gun transferring business. i did not mind buying from him IF he had what I wanted and IF it was a fair price. But in my part of the country people think an awful lot of their firearms. Never will go back again. I don't mind driving a little further to make a transfer through someone on their perferred list. The guy on the preferred list was more than happy to make the transfer.

The only problem I have seen with Bud's along with what others have said about inaccurate descriptions is that when they show an item out of stock you will most likely wait a loooong time before it is back in stock.

Considering that we live in California, where it is not unusual to have $80 FFL transfer fees, I don't think that is the reason. My guy's shop also specializes in reloading gear; actual firearms are not his bread and butter. Also, he's transferred plenty of Spike's AR-15 lowers for me that, even with the addition of his fee, were still $50-$75 cheaper than the uppers he has for sale. I think it is safe to say that something else happened.

Well I just went to bud's website and the double star that I wanted is out of stock. This suck. But it no big deal I wont havethe money for a few more weeks. Hopefully they'll have it back in stock.

FYI, today i asked bud's to cancel my order (since i cannot find out if the gun they took my money for is really in stock) and look at the email i just got from bud's:

glad you have patience enough to let someone first take your money, then not be willing to communicate with you that the item even exists, and then tell you that you have to pay for the right to cancel the order. yup. that's patience.

A friend bought a doublestar ar from buds. A GREAT gun. I would recommend one to anyone looking for a good range AR.

A lot of BS in this thread. Someone complaining because of what? Buds shipping services on schedule with what they say it will be? Yeah, I would rush to complain instead of waiting like was agreed to. Buds doesnt stock many of thier guns. A lot of them are drop shipped, and show as in stock. If you order one of these and cancel, there will be a stocking fee, thats specified at the time of purchase, again, not a surprise.

OP I have ordered at least four guns from buds, the service has been great. I order, five to seven days later my dealer calls me and tells me that its at his shop. I guess if you want to get all worked up over what someone says on the internet and cancel an order, making your own problems, you may have a problem with Buds.
