Does anyone know of a flashlight for the hipoint pistols? I know of the lasers but I would prefer a flashlight. Are there any that will mount to the laser mount or will it have to be something custom I have to make myself?

HiPoints website sells just the laser mount on the website for $5. I'm sure it wouldnt be hard to find a flashlight to fit in it.

Let's be dead serious for a minute, please

While it's fun to tease one another, I want to inject a STRONG word of caution - -

EVERYONE who mounts a flashlight on any kind of firearm needs to remain constantly aware of the hazards undertaken. Peace officers and soldiers sometimes have a positive duty to perform house clearings and otherwise go into harm's way. In preparing to do so, personnel issued with weapon-mounted lights undergo extensive training BEFORE shooting the weapons. THEN they participate in lengthy live fire sessions, firing large quantities of (issued) live ammo on the range. Such personnel are also trained to utilize the weapon-mount light in conjunction with separate, NON-mounted lights. This training is conducted by specially trained, certified instructors, operating under witten and carefully reviewed lesson plans. Further, both operational and training personnel must undergo periodic refresher training and requalification.

Law enforcement and other govenmental administrators are keenly aware of the liability that attaches to such activities. The training stresses safety, super tight trigger control, and mindset. It is not undertaken lightly. It is conducted only in the interest of providing maximum protection to personnel who MUST engage in such hazardous search procedures. Even so, training accidents do occur. And, unfortunately, operational accidents take place as well. They happen often enough that there are frequent discussions about disallowing weapons-mounted lights for civilian police.

However you conduct operations, a person with a weapon mounted light is pointing a loaded firearm whereever the light shines. It is bad enough when a fully trained peace officer is assigned to a situation in which criminal activity is reported. - - Dangerous enough in a commercial building or warehouse where a break-in is known or suspected. Might the movement in the dark be a late-working employee or a night watchman? How much more hazard is there in a residence or neighborhood setting, where there MAY be an offender, but where it is certain sure that uninvolved residents and passersby are apt to be? If such activity is fraught with peril when done by highly trained cops, how much more so when done by essentially UNtrained persons, operating without backup? And remember, there is NO free fire zone anywhere in the United States. Not even one.

How many private individuals seek out competent instruction in the use of weapon-mounted lights? Such teaching is not cheap. One who chooses an economy-model handgun as a base weapon is not apt to spend such money on training and practice ammunition. This doesn't even address the need for an additional, unmounted, high-intensity flashlight to use in concert with the mounted light.

Those who contemplate installation of a weapon mounted light should carefully consider their motives in so doing. If it is simply to possess a "kewel tool," this is one thing. To consider the actual USE of the artifact deserves the most careful planning and caution.

NOTE: There is much justification for a gun-mounted laser sight. At least, the user is not waving a loaded firearm in all directions while conducting an area search.

NOTE 2: While some of the above MAY appear critical of even official agencies which may use gun lights, it is not meant to be. Don't start cop bashing. Posts will disappear, and the thread is easily closed.

I am definitely not trying to copy the police or anyone like that I would just prefer a flashlight. But that definitely is interesting and gets me thinking about it before I decide to get or make one, thank you for that information. And the laser mount is to small for any flashlight that would work well. I have looked into that because that would definitely be the easiest and smartest way to do it. But I'm wondering if there is a different manufacturer that made one, although I seriously doubt it
