Hickok45 Groupies?

Showed me, I need a place where I can shoot targets near my front porch. :)

Cool videos.

Well, I tried to watch the video, but now Youtube wants me to have a Google account before I can view anymore Youtube videos. I guess I've watched my last video. I'm tired of jumping through hoops for goofy reasons.

Really? When did this start? I haven't heard of any such restriction in the past.

I've watched various videos of his for quite a while now and I recently subscribed to his channel. I agree with the OP in that I wish he could be getting a bit of cash for his time and effort...he's got some of the best firearms related videos on youtube. His videos have helped me make up my mind in a few firearms purchases and they're always entertaining.

He has some cool videos and is an amazing shot even though he doesn't brag about it. Seems like a nice guy with good videos, and I envy his private range.

I wish I could shoot from a bench half as good as he can off hand. 230 yard shots with a pistol off that gong, hitting small plinking targets in rapid secession like it was nothing, etc. He doesn't pretend like he knows everything, and never tries to push anything. If he doesn't know something, he says that, and even admits when he messes something up. He doesn't edit out misses, and when he does, he straight up says that he had a horrible string and took it out.

Of course he is biased towards glocks, but he tells you that too! Everybody has a certain thing they really like. It is when they tell you it is the best, etc, that it gets annoying. If he has done that, I haven't seen it.

I guess I am a hickok45 groupie.

I think he does get cash actually. Youtube partners usually get a certain amount of money per view. Though it's only a few cents, it adds up. I have a friend with a Youtube partnership getting around 6 cents per view, but he's getting hundreds of thousands on every other video. At the very least, maybe 10k views.

I've seen every Hickok45 video and have been subscribed for a while. He is the man. I also like tnoutdoors9 video's. He is friends with Hickok45.

I'm a subscriber for sure. I get to shoot quite a bit, but I still don't have a range of my own. That part makes me green with envy. I really do enjoy watching his stuff. He does do a better job of being objective than most. I realize everyone has their favorites, and that is to be expected. Either way he sure has a great time doing what he does.

Another subscriber and fan of Hickok45's vids. He just makes it all seem so easy and effortless. Yeah, he misses once in a while just like we all do, but that doesn't seem to bother him. Even though he's clearly a Glock fan, he reviews lots of other guns and gives them a fair evaluation. I've learned a lot from watching his channel and always look forward to something new from him.

John who?

Did you say a modern-day John Wayne? Not really. John Wayne was an actor, and a rather arrogant person in real life. Hickok is the real McCoy, and a very unassuming individual who shares his knowledge unselfishly. I've learned a great deal from his videos, just as I have on THR. :)

hickok45 is the real deal. I enjoy his videos a great deal.

For the amount of skill he has, he is amazingly modest. When I first started finding shooting videos on YouTube, I found nutnfancy, and while I mean no disparagement to that individual, when I found hickok45 I never went back. I enjoy my shooting simple, clean, and honest, and that's what he does. He shows that with practice, a cool head, and common sense, it's perfectly possible to be a dead-eye with almost any gun.

SR, you are correct about Wayne, in his latter years he was a nasty SOB. The roles he played were synonimus with the Hero we would like to see in all men, but in reality he was a nasty old fart. Too much credance is given to actors for doing what they get paid to do. We sometime forget that it's their job. Look a Charlie, he was a likeable chap for many of his disturbing years, platoon and Navy Seals were pretty good movies, I believe he either got or was nominated fo an academy award for platoon, meanwhile he is really a stoned out jerk, who doesent remember even filming most of the stuff he did. I see Hickock as your everyday type guy who is a good American and would go if needed anyware as long as he could function, as a soldier or a lawman. He has that patriotic american quality, "aside from the guns" a down to earth guy who wants to give back the knowledge he has gained to others. I would love to meet him and just hang out with him for a day. We need more role models like him. Maybe a Senate seat in his future.

Hickok does a great job on his videos. I really do enjoy watching his videos. He did say in one video I watched that the google ads that come up on the bottom actually help pay for his ammo and stuff. So ya, he does make some money. How much? i'll probably never know. Hickok has answered questions i've emailed him, and was the reason I bought a Dillon 550 instead of starting single stage, I really think he saved me a lot of money.

I can't STAND "Nutnfancy" though. that idiot loves to hear himself talk it seems. He has several short films full of useless blabber. What a waste of bandwidth.

EXACTLY what I was going to say. I like Hickock45. If I'm looking for a gear review and find nutnfancy though, I immediately close the window.

Only ones I know of that require you to have an account are those flagged as adult material.

Very strange. I tried to watch a music video last night and that is when I got that message. Now, I have tried to watch this video and another rather mundane video and Youtube will not allow me to view anything. Whatever.

Thanks for sharing that guys, I didn't know that and I'm glad to hear that all my views may have helped buy him some rounds for future videos.

I'm not a youtube junkie but when I come across one of his videos I tend to watch it. I really enjoy his videos and they are very informative.

Thanks for posting about this guy. I had never heard of him before and he is an excellent shot and gives down to earth reviews. Makes me miss home though, we have a range back home in rural Missouri that looks a lot like his range and would be perfect for the kinds of shooting he does. I grew up shooting things with pistols at 200-300 yards for fun (must be a country thing.) Now if he starts shooting into puddles after a rain storm and ricocheting bullets into the targets to see if he can hit them, I will be sold.
