I'm sure I'm not the only one who has spent countless hours watching videos on "Hickok45"'s Youtube channel. He's an extremely amiable gentlemen and a crack shot who has his own range. I love his mixture of firearms history, mechanical fascination, and homespun humor and wisdom. Still, he has posted so many videos that I'm sure I've missed some good ones. Which are your favorites?

I've probably watched his video on the Jungle Carbine a half dozen times: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVO1Gp6BtJE

Yep, all of his videos are worth watching, in my opinion. I found myself unemployed during the summer of 2012, and spent a good part of it either riding my motorcycle or watching Hickok45 videos. I don't remember any that I didn't enjoy.

Agree, I think he does good videos. Envy his setup.
I really liked the one he did on the Henry/Winchester lever actions. Like a history lesson. :)

Before I purchase a weapon, I do a lot of research. One of the first things I do is to look and see if there is a Hickok45 video covering the gun. Most of the time there is. He is factual and objective, and he presents himself well. My only complaint is that I always assume that the gun will be just as accurate for me as it was on the video. Go figure.

I love Hickok45's stuff. Even a noob like me can tell he makes some of the best gun videos on YouTube.

The NRA should hire him as a spokesman when he retires from teaching. Calm, soothing, knowledgeable, obviously having a lot of fun and not hurting anyone. He'd be a great way to balance out the "paranoid survivalist" image a lot of people seem to have in their heads.

They do run a bit long and sometimes I find him droning on about the same thing. However, I am subscribed to his videos and I enjoy watching them.

Hickok45 fan here.

I think I have watched every 'woods walk' ever recorded.

Hard to say which video is my favorite but I've watched the sig navy video more than once... Or twice..... Classic Hickok

I've seen a few of them and like most of what I've seen.

I agree he rambles a bit, but evenso, his vids seem to average 12-15 minutes.

I've watched far fewer from Nutnfancy, as his drone on and on for 30-40+ minutes.

Ain't no one got time for that!

I like em in the 5-10 minute range.

I'm a fan of a couple videos in particular (lawnmower destruction) being one of them. Just as an aside, he's exactly the same in person as he is in the videos. He's a genuinely nice guy who loves shooting and all things related.

Like 9/10 of the YouTube reviewers, he repeated himself a lot. Still, I thoroughly enjoy his videos.

For the technical correct presentation (well planned, well edited) scotch00 is hard to beat. He just lacks Hickock's personal appeal.

I can especially relate to his reviews and watch them due to relevance. I know he is a tall guy, so his comments towards ergonomics are important to me before I handle the weapon on my own. I'm 6'7" and I believe he's somewhere close to that as well.

I agree, scootch00 is an *excellent* reviewer who seldom (if ever) repeats himself. I really enjoy hickock45's stuff, but sometimes his videos get redundant and I find myself watching more of his "for fun" videos rather than his reviews. I have to be careful when I hear him say a gun fits his hands well, as he can disengage the slide-stop on a full-size 1911, with his shooting hand, without adjusting his grip

My favorite video is the one of him with his Ruger 1911 (commander size! Not even a full 5" version!!) at 230 yards:what:: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2cnop15VA8&feature=youtube_gdata_player

He does the same thing with a Glock 27 and Glock 23..impressive to say the least!

I also like Military Arms Channel and Mrgunsandgear in addition to Hickok and Sootch

My favorite Hickok45 videos are his (more or less) monthly radio shows. Wish I could get them from iTunes to put on my iPod next to Gun Talk, Armed American Radio, and NRA News.

I pretty much like all of them because it brings me back to the times when my sons and I could prowl around the outdoors and just set up a bunch of informal targets somewhere safe and just bang away and yak to each other about guns.

I like his unscripted folksy style and his occasional redundancy is just a part of that, but he is pretty thorough in his discussions.

I love his long range handgun shooting at the gongs, because that was always part of our (and my, alone) sessions --again, where safe. We didn't use gongs, but rocks and cowpies and stumps and other targets of opportunity at unknown ranges.

I like that little laugh when he misses, and his remarks about not quitting on a miss.

He's an amazing "field shot" and I'm glad he uses reactive targets instead of bullseye paper. I also like the wide variety of guns he "tests." (You and I both know he's not "testing" the gun... he's just having fun and calling it a test.)

My only criticism is that it's often hard to tell, before his shot, what he's going to shoot at. Sometimes his photographer (son John) has trouble with that, too.

The length doesn't bother me. I sometimes will stop the vid and go do something else for a while, then come back to it... not that I'm bored, just time for a break.

I sure envy him his shooting ability and his shooting situation. I had my own 100 yd range for about 11 years and know the pleasure of being able to load five rounds for testing, go shoot them, and come back to the loading bench to either make adjustments to the load, or go ahead and load up all 20 or 50 cases.

I also envy the guys on this thread who apparently know him personally. I'd like to shake his paw someday, too.

Thumbs up for Hickok45 !

I just like his videos. Some more than others. Only "favorites" are when the man just makes (what most of us mortals would consider) an impossible shot. A great shooter that knows his subject matter and takes time to share it with us. What is not to like?

I like his XDs video where he hits the gong @ 80yds. He shows us what is possible from the pocket rocket.
Of course, I enjoy watching all (or mostly all) of his videos.
