I pretty much like all of them because it brings me back to the times when my sons and I could prowl around the outdoors and just set up a bunch of informal targets somewhere safe and just bang away and yak to each other about guns.
I like his unscripted folksy style and his occasional redundancy is just a part of that, but he is pretty thorough in his discussions.
I love his long range handgun shooting at the gongs, because that was always part of our (and my, alone) sessions --again, where safe. We didn't use gongs, but rocks and cowpies and stumps and other targets of opportunity at unknown ranges.
I like that little laugh when he misses, and his remarks about not quitting on a miss.
He's an amazing "field shot" and I'm glad he uses reactive targets instead of bullseye paper. I also like the wide variety of guns he "tests." (You and I both know he's not "testing" the gun... he's just having fun and calling it a test.)
My only criticism is that it's often hard to tell, before his shot, what he's going to shoot at. Sometimes his photographer (son John) has trouble with that, too.
The length doesn't bother me. I sometimes will stop the vid and go do something else for a while, then come back to it... not that I'm bored, just time for a break.
I sure envy him his shooting ability and his shooting situation. I had my own 100 yd range for about 11 years and know the pleasure of being able to load five rounds for testing, go shoot them, and come back to the loading bench to either make adjustments to the load, or go ahead and load up all 20 or 50 cases.
I also envy the guys on this thread who apparently know him personally. I'd like to shake his paw someday, too.
Thumbs up for Hickok45 !
