Just joined a little while ago and I have found this site really interesting on home safe/security cabinets, bullet information and other discussions. I look forward to being a contributing member for a long time.

Hey guys, I'm new to this board, and am looking forward to getting in on the discussions and being a part of the community. PM me with any questions, I can't think of anything else to say. :D

New from GA

Hello everyone, I'm from metro Atlanta. I enjoy shooting handguns and I carry a Glock 26 or 19. I like to take an advanced pistol class every year.

I recently got into 12 gauge shotguns for HD. I love shotguns now! Glad to be here!

Intro

Hi everyone, I bought a Lee Metford at a gun show a little while ago and have been looking around for other antique military gun owners. I use a 125 bullet with a 3031 smokeless 38 grn load an it works very well. It great gun to shoot and I am enjoying it quite a bit. It is the first gun I have reloaded for so I am getting into that as well.

Hello

Hi, The name's Joshua. I am not exactly new to the world of firearms but in many (most) ways I am a greenhorn.

I mostly plink around with my Stevens 64
I owned a Moss .270 but I sold it. :(

I live in southwest Florida and I'm decent shot, but still improving. I work in a photo lab at the local college and know everything there is to know about nikon cameras.

Ruger Number 1, scope to far forward.

Had same problem, could not get 6-24 X 40 Bauch & Lomb scope close enough to eye etc. Because of the scope centre adjustment block.
SOLUTION I decided to remove the rear Ruger site rail & turn it round. You end up with one mount securing bolt to the right & the other to the left.
Then mount scope using just the front tube portion. Meaning there is no mount fixing @ the back of the scope.
Try it, because it does work especially if you have a well built scope the B&L, Weaver etc.

Hi all! I'm new here, lurked for a while and decided to sign up. I am mainly a handgun shooter, but enjoy black powder rifles and AR15' as well. I shoot IDPA regularly and am planning to start steel challenge soon.

Hey y'all, new member here from Texas. Inactive ARNG, due to a bad ankle injury waiting on surgery in July to put in plates and screws and then a medical discharge. Miss carrying an M4, but I have a Glock 19 and just waiting on DPS to mail my CHL to me.

Hi All

Frank from Dublin, Ireland. I've found some very useful info on this forum as we do not have a large shooting community here.
I have a 1640s style matchlock / 1720 French flintlock (both repros I hasten to add) as I do historical reenactment.
Also a .22 lr Krico bolt action carbine and a recently aquired semi auto .22 lr Erma EM1 carbine.

Hi,

I'm interested in large bore revolvers, rifles, and semiauto shotguns. But, I have the most fun shooting my cap & ball .44. I live near Chicago IL and would like to know if there are any black powder clubs around. I belonged to a BP club in NY but haven't had much chance to shoot BP out here. I really like THR site.

Who I am

I am new to this forum, in fact I do believe this is the first forum I've ever joined. I am active duty Air Force stationed in South Carolina, I grew up in NC and have been stationed in Alaska and Idaho. I just recently purchased my first (purchase have had 22s and hand guns given to me) gun a Smith & Wesson M&P 15. I have many varied interests but as I get older and amass more and more family I feel the NEED and Desire to provide protection from those "domestic enemies" that I swore to defend against. I love God, family, hockey, and guns. I also have never been hunting but desire to learn and start for the sport as well as to supplement my family's food supply. I currently only have 3 guns two 22's and an ar-15. I will have more. I enjoy target shooting as well. Ok well after this long winded intro I will close. Thanks in advance as I'm sure I'm gonna soak up as much info and drive you all silly with all my queries.

New Member Maydave info

UK based so not as lucky as most you forum users in the USA etc. Have Ruger #1 223 with bull barrel, 6-24 x 40 B&L scope Shoot with club @ Bisley ( UK famous range ) Also have 22 rim fire mag semi auto & Krico bolt action 22LR. UK is now mainly air rifles ( all under 12ft/lbs ) Have been a keen shooter since age 7yrs, ( now 60+)
The 223 has managed good groupings ( on a still day ) @ 1000 yards, but mainly used on the 600 yard range. Bisley also has a power rating limit that excludeds some of the rifles that others use outside of the UK. However as Brits, we tend to be far more the precision shooter than most other countries & this is due to the high cost of ammo, in UK. But @ least we can drive faster than 55mph! Before the UK handgun ban, I had a 357 Korth & large frame Smith & Wes. 357 & reloaded own. I work in military/aerospace electronics field, so haave much contact with the states.

I'd like to make a proper introduction for myself...

Hi,
I recently signed up here to be a member of The HighRoad after following numerous web links suggested by the search engine when querying about the Ruger Old Army and other related subjects over the last 4 maybe five or six years.

My screen name is R. Ganister. The R. stands for Rob.

I might come across as being cynical, sarcastic or satirical at times, which, for the moment it occurs, might mostly reflect an accurate impression of my mood.
On political websites I favor individualism through constitutional rights and capitalism as vastly preferred over state control and economic collectivism. Just to get that out of the way.
I try to follow the golden rule, where it applies, since all idealism is just that, and reality must dictate on it's own accords in spite of lofty and honest ideals.
Anyway, I'm just a typical guy and an American by birth and heritage with ancestors who settled in the colonies and later even helped settle the West. I hope that's acceptable. ;)
