I'm setting up my Dillion for the first time. Cases won't fully engage into the shell plate on station 1. And sometimes the case gets stuck half way out of the case tube and doesn't fall into the Case insert slide.

- I've adjusted the cam pin all the way (that did help, it was worse before I did that)
- The cases are close and 3 out of 4 make it deep enough into the shell plate to function, but then the de-prime pin in the die either hits the edge of the case or is outside of it.
- Every 5 or 6 pulls of the lever leaves the case insert slide empty and the casing is only half way out of the tube.
-I've ensured that all conversion components are for the .223. it came that way and I've checked all parts.

It's as if the handle won't go quite far enough in the upright position, but I can't seem to figure out why, although that may not be the issue at all.

Any thoughts?? Thanks in advance. :banghead:

Conversion makes me think you have had the machine set up to load something else. Pistol rounds would be my guess. The black triangle looking part that moves back and forth has to be reversed for rifle cases.

Also, I have had a short down stroke caused by spent primers finding there way into the little black L that contacts the primer anvil, causing the ram to stop short of "down".

Thanks J!!! I did not notice that, and you are right now that I look at the drawing, it is backwards. when I said conversion, that's because every cal has "conversion" parts, however mine came with the .223 conversion installed. But the triangle is backwards. I really appreciate the help.

OK, I've tried everything. The handle won't go all the way up, meaning the plate won't go all the way down. The primer plunger won't even engage! I've ensured that the correct primer pin and plate are in. Frustrating. Any thoughts?

Are you sure there isn't something under the ram, between it and your bench? Mine is mounted on a "Strong Mount" of my design and every once in a while I'm careless, allowing a tool to get under the ram. Also check to see if anything is under the shell holder support that is attached to the top of the ram. Take a look while the ram is being cycled up/down and see if there is any interference. Last item can be if the "fail safe" rod on the powder measure is not long enough or the bushing it feeds through is not fully through the bracket.

Turns out, the outside edge of the Shoot/bin Mount was too wide and the case insert slide was landing right on top of it. From the angle of the mounted machine, I couldn't see it. I had to bend the shoot to make it clear. That took 2 freakin days to find.

Huh? Ummm, okay, um what?
Oh I see CHUTE!

I'll have to check mine, sometimes I have the same problem.:D
