Which HK did you get? asked by Yo mama
I got the hk monochrome. Its not assisted opening or any thing, probly won't be carried. Like I said as lame as it sounds I kind of just got it to go with my hk usp(I know its cheesey) Another person asked whereI found these deals. It was a place called Odoms Ace hardware and knife center here in upstate South Carolina. I'm hooked on these things now like I am guns. was a gun lover first. One thing that helps me out is that my wife is in to the same things. she got a pink kershaw scallion.
The next one on my list is the Sog twitch xl or the kershaw black out. They had the black out for 35 but I left it behind because I'd already spent so much money. Kicking myself now lol. The Delica for 35 bux has an amazing edge. I've been pleased with them all thus far even the Gerber. Take care guys

I carry a Victorinox because it is handy to have something to pry with but my primary EDC is a Spyderco Full Flat Ground ZDP-189 blade. I also carry a Esee Izula (neck knife). But my favorite is my Boker 67. It may be a shade big for some folks. It is around 4.5 oz and has a 3.5 inch blade. The Delica gets most use. My son has a Kershaw Leek which I really like. It's slim, tight lock-up still after a couple of years and lightning fast deployment. Kershaw's are great too because they are all USA made. But there are a lot of great knives that are affordable and then you can get into some high-dollar custom knives. All-in-all, I have had great luck with Gerber, Buck, Kershaw and Spyderco.

I had my Victorinox at scout camp one year and one of the scouts wanted to borrow it to clean a fish. I said, "Make sure you bring it back and don't loose it". The kid lost it. Fortunately I etched my name and phone number on it. The next day at the flag ceremony another leader taps me on the shoulder and asks, "Is this your"? I'm glad it was found and given back to me. My wife got it for me years ago.

Holy crap! It looks like I'll be heading to Spartanburg this weekend. I sure wish I'd known about this place sooner. I've been eyeing a mini griptillian for a while now.

Especially now that you've got a quiver of knives, you may be willing to give this a try. I've got a Twitch II also, and I too didn't like the smooth scales. I've got the Lowes version which has plastic scales, the "real" one has aluminum and this won't work. But I took a soldering iron to mine and stippled a few areas to give me a better grip while opening and holding the knife. Worked great, went quickly (~30 min), and I wasn't risking an especially spendy knife.

Hey Magoo, I hope you get this before you make to Odoms, last I heard they were downto case knive, hk knives, a couple of gerber Gators and some benchmade automatics. They may be picked over now. But still may be worth a shot to go. Post and let me know what you find.

Plus 1 on Piraticalbob's suggestion. I carry the Spyderco Tencacious.
Great knife.

Bought off of Amazon for less than $30 with free shipping. I've used it lightly for a year and still scary sharp.

i recently got a Benchmade Mini-Griptilian and couldn't be happier with it. I have had a few BM autos, and dozens of other knives over the years. Buck, Gerber, Swiss Army, Schrade, and a few nice fixed blades as well.

EDIT- the Mini Grip is just about a perfect EDC. Small, light, not too expensive that you'll worry about it. It's about $70 if you look around a little.

My work EDC is a small SS Gerber. Work has rules about weapons. Bigger pocket knives fit that spec. It looks like the paraframe gerber but smaller. I've had it for about 4 years, carry it every day to work. Lost it in the garage drover over it for weeks before i found it. It is still a great knife. I have been very surprised with its durability. It is failry cheap. If you lose it no big deal. You can find them at Dick's and other retail stores.

Recently my kids got me a SOG Trident for father's day. It is now my non-work EDC. I love it so far, but the jury is still out.

My three favorite EDC knives are:

1. Kershaw RAM
2. Benchmade Mini-Griptilian
3. Spyderco Delica

I carried a Griptilian for a little while, when I was in 1-5 Inf at Lewis. Pretty good knife. I "sold" it to a squadmate when I left, but I must have really given it, because he never paid me.

Shawn A Cook, I haven't forgotten! :neener:
