If you fancy some sporting clays, come to north central Florida.......(preferably October/November or March/April for the best weather) Already have an English couple who also have a home here that I shoot with, more are always welcome

I'm in with this...I live in Nashville, Tennessee. Give me some heads up notice and we'll spend a day shooting, we'll go to the Grand Ole Opry and dinner. My aunt was a "war bride"from England so it would be fun to hear that accent again!

Mark

ps: Been thinking about this today. If you make it to mid-Tenn. we'll gather a group of the Tennessee shooters and see just how much noise we really can make. That would be fun!

Your kind offers have cheered me up immensely - thank you! If or when I get over there I will be contacting folk if I can - guaranteed!

Damn just reading this makes me think how much I'd love to visit your country. I'd like to visit Milwaukee - I think thats where they built my Harley - and I'd love to to try sporting clays U.S style, see if there's differences between how we do it and you guys do it.

And all the other places sound great too :D

If your in Vermont

PM me and I'll even give you a choice of various AR's to use. Great grandmother was an indentured servant from GB, uncle was a "Rocker" in the 50's in Lancaster (spelling ?). A DA, a pint and Elvis was his code to living.

If you get to the States and visit all of these ranges, you might as well stay and change your citizenship, you've made enough acquaintances in just this thread. :)

By the way, Here in New Mexico we have quite a few ranges but more importantly a lot of BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land than we can shoot on for free.

Touring, Trikes and Softails are assembled in York, Pennsylvania, all other models are assembled in K.C. Missouri. Corporate HQ is there as is the Harley Museum and parts assembly such as Sportster motors.

I'm across the state and probably be outta your way, but you're welcome to come shoot with me also. I've got a spare Harley or two you can ride also.

There is - we allow a pre-mounted gun to make it easier on the former trap and skeet shooters who can't handle a low gun............ :D

In fairness, at least for regular everyday sporting, we allow what we call "gun up" for sporting clays :)

Some people do, some don't, I do, but then I shoot a semi-auto, or my 870, so people think I'm wierd anyway. I'd read that your targets tended to be closer than ours, though how true that is I dont know. I surely dont shoot top class competition anyway! I've shot in the same local competition as George Digweed, but he's just there as practice, he shoots like 2 or 3 sporting clays comps on a sunday morning, mostly wins all of them with 99/100, then goes home with prize money and he's had good training :)

Me, I mostly go home with 70 to 80 score and a big grin on my face, but no prize money !
