You may not use the PayPal service for activities that:

relate to sales of (a) narcotics, steroids, certain controlled substances or other products that present a risk to consumer safety, (b) drug paraphernalia, (c) items that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity, (d) items that promote hate, violence, racial intolerance, or the financial exploitation of a crime, (e) items that are considered obscene, (f) items that infringe or violate any copyright, trademark, right of publicity or privacy or any other proprietary right under the laws of any jurisdiction, (g) certain sexually oriented materials or services, or (h) ammunition, firearms, or certain firearm parts or accessories, or (i) ,certain weapons or knives regulated under applicable law

If you get the paypal debit card, you can use it to buy ammo online as a mastercard.

I am confused about paypal...I hear that they are anti gun but both Kel Tec and Twisted Industries accept paypal to purchase parts directly from them.....Also Lee factory sales using Paypal...I have bought a ton of reloading stuff from them

With paypal some folks put "machine parts" as the contents, kind of like when shipping through customs in another country. If paypal knows it is for firearms, or someone tips them off, they'll freeze your account. They'll freeze it for a lot of other things too.

With paypal, it seems like it really isn't your money, ever.

As anti as they are, and as diehard as some folks are on here when it comes to boycotting anti establishments (some of you won't pee ON a Walgreen's, let alone IN one) many are more than happy to use paypal, just out of convenience, when what they do is much more egregious.

Yeah, you can probably buy ammo using paypal. And if they find out, you lose your account. Good luck fighting with them to get your money out of them too. There are people that have lost MANY THOUSANDS fighting with paypal over "frozen" accounts. There is even a documentary about this, about them and ebay.

Usually frozen means the assets are prevented from being used. It doesn't mean that paypal can keep it. But that is kind of how it works out in the end. They have different words for what they do, they think "stealing" is a little too harsh.

If you like paypal, you should call up the Brady Center and donate a few bucks for the cause.

Since Paypal is blatantly anti gun, why would you choose to do business with them? We see too many threads here about a store should be boycotted because they won't let you carry on their property, but these same voices tend to think this is OK?

Stryker typed faster than I did

+1 Stryker

I didn't realize paypal's stance.

That being said, if you sell on ebay (like I do) you have to use paypal. If you sell at a place other than ebay (at least the things I'm selling) you will lose money - even taking into account the ebay/paypal fees. Like them or hate them, ebay is the largest marketplace in the world for many items. Large markets = more money (usually).

I'll just continue transferring my ebay/paypal $ into my bank account and buy what I want with the $.

I am not doubting anything said here, but why would paypal partner with Kel Tec and Twisted Industries (who sell nothing but firearm related products) and Lee Factory sales (who sell nothing but reloading equipment)?

Again not doubting but it seems like if paypal is shutting individuals down for gun related transactions they would also "freeze" and shut down thses larger companies

Just get the paypal master card, the no gun stuff rules don't apply then as it is run as a mastercard. Mastercard has no problems with guns or ammo. :D

Ebay - another anti-gun site - OWNS paypal - that's why you have to use them

There are much better sites for gun-related items that are not anti-gun

Like gun broker
auction arms
local lists (since craigslist bans them due to the 'legalities involved' (Remember they are from SF so 'adult services' were OK)

I agree, and I tend to put all my gun-related stuff on Gunbroker (Auction Arms seems to be dieing a slow inevitable death), but for NON gun related stuff eBay is mostly without any serious competition.

Heck I can still remember back when eBay allowed you to sell actual guns on there (I been using it since 1997, but it wasn't long after that that they stopped allowing gun sales).

Paypal does not want to risk being sued over guns or ammunition paid for using their service.

It's not the only category of items that Paypal takes a hands-off policy to.

Paypal is one of the very best online companies. On par with Amazon and Ebay and Google.
