So I ordered a regular rem 700 base from weaver and it does not fit. I have a 700 SA tactical, the 20" version and I am looking for a 20 moa base. Good quality preferably. Can some one point me to the correct version I need to get?

I sort of feel dumb but I just cant tell from the description if the ones I am looking at will fit or not...

Thanks!

No joke... I just looked at the package and sure enough, they shipped me the log action... Crud... Now I feel even dumber...

Thanks for pointing the issue out though! :)

M700 short action>>>>>Badger, Near, Nightforce, Farrel, can be had in 0, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40 moa

It's just me but I prefer steel over aluminum

there are three types that I know of
1. 1 piece long action
2. 1 piece short action
3. 2 piece fits both

I dont even look at brand...if it screws onto my rifle and fits, it is the right one :D

apparently weatherbys use the same mounts because I had the store fit mounts onto my vanguard and they put a two piece mount for a rem700 on it... works just fine even for that light cannon 300 wtby

Well (tahunua) its a little more expansive than that. But to elaborate on the OP I use a Badger Rail on one of my rifles. My match rifle, there is nothing on 2nd rate. But on all my other rifles I use Tally with the exact same results. But they cost less than half the price.
you wont loose zero, even if you hurl your rifle across the yard. So to speak. if you put a good set of rings I.E. Mark 4 or Badger or Night Force. Do not under any circumstance skimp on rings. you will never loose zero. - the 10 lb sledge.
