need help on new rifle scope base please

just bought a rem model 700 30/06
got me a set of weaver bases split ,had a leupold 4-12 that I took off my model 742 bdl thought i was in there.
the bases were so wide that the scope would barely fit in mounts .no room for eye relief .
who makes a solid base to fit the mod700 so that my scope will mount without crushing the front bevell on the scope?
if ya know what im trying to say can ya give me some input

Hello, are you saying that the rings are too far apart so that you can't slide the scope front-to-rear? If so, you probably need an offset base or ring.
