Primos game cam (truth cam) is awesome. $100 at academy.

I have one of the Primos Truth Cam 46 similar to the last post and like it, but it's heavy and uses big D cells. I have two of the Bushnell trophy cams and LOVE them! Small enough to fit in your pocket, batteries last forever, and my newest one has Field Scan mode for time lapse video over an area. $145 delivered on eBay.

I hate my TruthCam 35

I have a Primos TruthCam 35, and I have not had good luck with it!

I think what happens is that the batteries get low and it writes an incomplete file to the memory card, after which it won't do anything. And the batteries just don't last. I have yet to have it run for two weeks without dying. I have tried using an external battery, but even then it quits in less than two weeks. Sometimes it has only operated for 2-3 days before it quit.

There have been occasions when I've had it take hundreds of pictures the first several days without a problem, so it can take a lot of photos. It just can't seem to run for more than about ten days at the most before it dies. To be fair, the heat during the past summer here in Texas was pretty severe, and that may have contributed to the camera's poor performance.

Basically I now use it only for short-term observation, like when I see hog wallowing and I know I can return to check it in less than one week. If I don't think I can get back in less than two weeks I don't even bother to set it out.

It eats batteries, so I now use only NiMH rechargeable. That helps the battery budget, but not performance because they start at a lower voltage than Alkaline batteries.

If/when I get another game camera, it will not be a Primos.

You must have gotten a bunk one or I got the only good one. Thru well over 3000 pictures over a span of three weeks, my batteries are showing 70% and I have yet to change them.

Batteries in my Remington branded camera are a month old and still going, full bars, but soon should weaken. It has all the features and cost about a C note. I'm pretty happy with it, much better camera than my SIL's Moultry brand. It really don't get that cold down here, though. Hasn't froze, yet, but we're supposed to get down NEAR freezing with the front coming in today. We'll see. I figure it will since my squash is kickin' butt.

Cows and Turkeys get along, so does small bears and raccoons. Also A few more pictures of a different bear. Also got a picture of a small eight point.

Cool. I like those bear pics! Here is that turkey herder in succession!

M-80 Moultrie is what mine is. It holds 8 AA Batteries and they have lasted a good while, better than the cheap Wildview 5R that holds 4 C batteries. I also had a newer 5R Wildview that tore up and I sent it back since it was within the 1 year warranty period. They said they would send me a new one to replace it, but I have yet to see it.

I also have one of the Bushnell Trophy Cams at the deer lease that takes pretty good pictures and the batteries last a good while with it.

Also had a picture of the Coyote above the house.

Cold weather is tough on batteries. As you can see by the picture below my moultrie was still able to do ok at 18 degrees. I have not been around the Bushnell much during cold weather, since I bought it back in September of this year. Right now it is 246 miles away from home and I will not get to check those pictures til I go back hunting in a week or so.

So far this year the coldest temps I have seen have been 25 degrees. It seemed to work just fine.

The hogs here are like clock work... Every evening no matter what blind I am in they will show up between 5:46m and 5:54pm. A few weekends ago I shot 3 in one evening, my grandfather and uncle each shot 1. Luckily, there is a great processor near by they will make whole hog breakfast sausage for $80 regardless of pig size.

The 80-120lbs hogs taste great.

I need to readjust this camera so the flash is pointed up towards the feeder, but look closely and you will see "Boss Hogg." The feeder is 5ft tall and 5 ft across at the base for a size reference.
