M73/M219 rat-trap coax's on my M60A1 at Fort Knox, on Rodriquez Range and later at Yakima and over in Baumholder
M240...a real beauty and breathe of fresh air
M85 on the M60A1 at Knox, Korea and Yakima
M2
M3A1 ...such a slow rate of fire!
M16A1
M60 (OUCH! So that's what that glove is for LT)
M134 minigun, M129 chunker and XM35 20mm cannon on AH-1G and AH-1S (Mod)
M197 20mm cannon on AH-1S (FM)
Does salvoing 19 shot pods of 2.75 FFAR count?
Egyptian AKM during fam fire at Camp Garry Owen
MG42 during "Schützenschnur" qualification with our Bundeswehr partnership unit
Wifey didn't pay attention during our County Sheriff's Dept "Citizens Academy" weapons fam fire with the .40cal MP5 and "accidently" fired her second magazine on full auto...a real pleaser on the firing line!
Goal is to fire a Thompson though!

Not as many as everybodyelse :( but a couple

Over rated? Yes and no. As for how much fun they are, NOPE, they're really that much fun. As for effectiveness, yep, in all honesty (in a 5.56 rifle) I'd take a semi if it was time to put in some real work (maybe that's just me)

From what I understand, professionals who practice a lot can be very effective and accurate with 2 and 3 shot bursts, but full auto rock and roll is inherently inaccurate, especially with smaller, lighter weapons.

I have shot the Glock 18 a few times and no matter how tightly you clamp down, that thing is going to muzzle climb like crazy.

Kindly, share experiences.

UZI 9mm (full size).

It was okay. Found it hard to sight with.

Norrel twenty two rifle -- internally suppressed -- full auto.

This one was AMAZING.

Dead quiet.
Accurate.
So little recoil even when dumping a mag.

Yep, buddy has a Cobray M11 with silencer. I was less than impressed. Had to use the screw on forward grip to keep the muzzle down. No way to do that with that little cheesy strap, well, unless you're Steven Seagal in "Under Siege". Hell, I couldn't afford the ammo. He got it for an investment, though, about 20 years ago and, I gotta admit, he has done better than the stock market. He gave 600 for gun and suppressor, 400 for the tax stamps. They don't sell class 3 stuff built after 1986. This has greatly lessened supply since he got his, and we all know how supply and demand works. :D

Oh, he didn't want the suppressor, but the shop wouldn't sell the gun without it.

I've only fired a rental Thompson M1A1. Very fun. Ammo disappears quickly. Learned after the first magazine not to use the sights and just look over the barrel like a shotgun when holding the trigger back. I never tried using it past 25 yards so I have no longer range experience with it.

yes, found this to be true with the M11/9 equipped with a Lage slowfire upper. however, when shooting an M16 compared to an AR15, i (personally) think it would be much easier to neutralize multipe targets with the latter than the first YMMV

Anyone in the Atlanta area that wants to shoot a SMG, give Stadards Gun Room (in Douglasville) a call. They have some SMG shoots coming up where they'll rent different SMG's (BYO if ya got it). I think you have to qualify with one under pretty close supervision before they cut you loose with it on the range (they rightfully want to know you're not stupid with it :)).

I've fired pretty much the full current army inventory and several rentals at a range. It's fun, but rental fees can be silly, you buy your own ammo, and you load your own mags. It's fun the first few times I suppose.

I really like the MP-5 for controllability and ease of use.

I really don't see a lot of use for full-auto fire in a service rifle. Mostly for suppression fire. I'm much more interested in teaching mmm soldiers to make hits count than how to hose things. That's what the light, medium, and heavy MGs are for.

I remember laying on my poncho in the rain during basic training and firing the m60 giggling like a little kid. My DI was ragging me about it and I told him that the full auto fire was one of the primary reasons I enlisted. I loved it!

My favorite - the Thompson....

M-14 ...(yes, mine issued at Ft. Knox was select fire) AIT field exercise
adventure was a hoot with it.
M-16A1 ... had this on my track
M-2 Carbine ... had this on my track.
M-60 ... had this on my track, my first job. I'm one of those guys who
actually likes the M-60!)
M-2HB ... had this on my track also.
M-1919A6 ... which we swiped from an ARVN/RFPF armory after we retook
their compound in CuChi.
M-1918 BAR (same as above) ... but the MACV pussies made us turn 'em
back in ... darn!!
M3A1 SMG ... had this on my track also.

Also, captured stuff: (which we didn't get to keep long enough for us to become too attached to them. (Thanks, you "intelligence" doofusses ... like
you never saw any of these before???)

I did get to shoot a Thompson a bunch of years ago at an indoor range ... that was fun too.

Fired a Ma Deuce off the deck of the USS Sacramento at floating 55 gal drums in about 1995. It was awesome, and they let me keep the brass/links, still got them. LC 85/87 build. While I was there, the EOD guys let me blow up some 4x4s (timbers, not trucks)with det cord as well. That was pretty neat too.

I have made it my business to shoot as many FA weapons as I can.

First was a Thompson, followed by a Grease Gun and an MP5.
Then:
Other Thompsons.
Other MP5 including an MP5K
Another M3.
Several Reisings.
Uzi.
Full Auto Broomhandle Mauser.
Beretta 38/45
PPSH (two)
M16.
FND (improved BAR).
Browning M2.
Browning 1917 Water Cooled.
.22 Replica of Browning 1919
Converted SKS (A hoot).
Converted Glock 34 (Both dealer samples). Only Glock I've liked.
United Defense 9mm (Made by Marlin for WWII).
S&W M76.
M14.
Erma 9mm.
Suomi 9mm.
MACs of various parentage.
Ingram M6 .45 ACP (Lots better than later MACs).
AR18.
Madsen M50 9mm.
Swedish "K"
AK47. (Dealer sample).
Short barreled shotgun Rem 870.

Have never been in the military. Used to go to a big match with guns to "demo"
on the back range.

When I had my brick and mortar store in the early 80's I was a Class Three dealer. I couldn't even begin to list all of the full autos I have shot. This is in addition to the toys Uncle Sugar trained me with.
