Which select fire sounds the best?

H&K G3 - not as controllable as I liked
Colt M16 - controllable but not my favorite platform
AKM 47 - somewhat controllable and was reliable if a little fast
AKS74U - never fired one
Steyr AUG - never fired one full auto
MP5 - Very Controllable and would be the one picked especially if access to suppressor - either 3 lug or SD model.

When I competed at Knob Creek the MP-5 was chosen due to its controlability, rate of fire, and accuracy. I also used a Sterling but you don't have that listed. Some folks shot a M-16 in 9mm but usually an MP-5 won the bacon.

Yes, and for a light machine gun the MG-3 (modern day MG-42) with Italian Heavy Bolt.

I have only heard three full auto rifles up close: two were Galil clones (I fired one) and the third was an FAL. The FAL sounded the best.
