Anyone else going out to the range today and put some lead down range. I plan to use the "classic" firearms today. 45 Colts, 45-70, the 30-30, a couple old muzzle loaders and will also set off my BP cannon a couple times this evening at home.

I love exercising my rights to honor what it took to become what we are here in the USA today.

A special thank you to each and every other US Citizen that did their part to make our nation the greatest on earth this past year also.

And most of all happy birthday America!

To keep it gun related. Are you going to shoot today? If so what? I was thinking about gathering up the family and heading out to shoot.

Maybe the Garand, Mosins, And AKs. Maybe a few pistols.

I have a new CCO 1911 that would be a joy to shoot today, but they have me here in Georgia. That being said just because today is the fourth, the non-'Merican guns would stay home today. Just seems fair.

No range today. The range I use is outdoors and it looks like it will rain so I'm chained to the grill.

Today its ribs, burgers, hot dogs, cherry pie, baked beans, corn on the cob, ice cream, and my family to help eat it all. Later its lying around like a beached whale and a wind storm (not the weather kind) then fireworks.

Not today......chores around the house til mid afternoon and then grilling with family and friends later this afternoon.

But was able to get off work a little early yesterday and got to the range before the rains came in!

Shot my marlin 22 levergun and my henry 45 colt levergun. I shoot off hand standing and am close to getting them all in a salad plate size circle at 50yrds

Makin' progress, feelin' good........

Usually I do spend all day on the 4th at the rifle range.. but it's over 100 in the shade and just too damn hot to enjoy it.

Might shoot a few handgun rounds off the back deck later with my boys, just for the heck of it while grilling ribeyes.

Nope got a separated shoulder. So I guess I will sit in the ac and watch Band of Brothers. 6 more weeks in a sling think I will go crazy. On the bright side I may improve my weak hand shooting. Happy 4th to all.

Just back from the range. Shot the Glock 19 and the Marlin 1894CS .357 magnum. Not that good with the Glock, but the Marlin's a tack-driver.

Both of my shoulders are injured but I'm going to get at lest one clip through this old Soldier today.

Took the AR and 1903 out, buddy took his AK and 10/22. My local outdoor range was pretty dead, it was nice. We had a family next to us plinking with .22's and a 30 carbine. Saw two other AR's the whole 4? hours we hung out. Got a few comments on the '03 and one of the younger (probably 12?) kids with the family was saying something about the AR right before I ran through a mag, overheard his dad tell him "thats not a 22lr".

Just fired the cannon off for the first time tonight. Now I need to clean it and reload it for the sunset volley.

I took my wife out Sunday shooting because it looked like I was going to have to work on the 4th. I ended up having it off but skipped going shooting again so that I can get some chores done this morning and so that I can go to a couple of matches this weekend. Mark

I wanted to, but it is too hot. At 5:00am it was 83 with a dew point of 76 in MN. I went for a 5 mile run and a short bike ride and spent the rest of the day indoors with AC. It hit 102 with dew point in the 70's shortly after noon.
