I had ordered these awhile ago mainly for target shooting, couldn't seem to find out whether they were any good for SD. Nobody seemed to know whether they expanded at all. Asked on a target/competition site, was pretty much told they don't discuss SD, just target. I mentioned that the bullets were ordered for practice, if they could be used as decent back up SD bullets for a SHTF scenario, not worrying about lawyers and hand loaded SD issues. I got told these are 'target' hollow points, not designed to expand. Every definition I could find for hollow point said they are for expanding. Emailed PD, got an answer from them stating the JHP do indeed expand, one of their competition shooters uses them for hog hunting. Posted the response, pretty much ended the 'discussion'. Any way, took advantage of the 4th of July 'noise', popped one into the pool, they do expand, not the pretty ones I see in the advertisements, but better than a FMJ. BTW, these are 9mm, this one was loaded on top of 5.7gr of Power Pistol, I didn't chronograph this load, but I did chrono these bullets on top of a 5.2gr load of PP, got 1025fps as an average.

Well, that would be better than a FMJ... reminds me of a Hornady XTP.

Not bad.
Maybe I should look into buying some of their JHP rounds as well.
That looks like good expansion to me.

Must have been fun digging that out from the bottom of the pool?

Nope, just jumped in and got it. It did knock a small chip out of the bottom, no biggie. About 5' deep, figured I was safe, I watch Mythbusters!
