Picked up a strange Mini-14 today

Man, that's a nice Mini. Kinda looks like a DIY GB, of sorts. That will sure make one slim walking stick with a five round magazine.

Eezox is the best "gun oil" I've found for parkerizing. Once you apply it will stay there until it is removed with a solvent.

It does work. The real trick to them is to shoot a group, then mark where you have it mounted, then move it forward or backward a little bit at a time until you find the position that provides the best groups. Kind of acts like a harmonic balancer as well as its intended purpose; a strut and heat sink. Shrunk my groups from 3moa down to about 1.25 moa with cheap ammo.

IIRC, over the years Ruger has made limited military sales of the Min-14 to several countries.
