Could someone please give me some info on my SKS, like the date Manufactured, whether it's a Sino-Soviet, whether or not it's an early model reciever made off of a Russian Reciever, and the value? I've searched all over the internet and i've yet to find a reciever marked like this one...

Oh and just so ya know, the serial number on the fixed mag does match that of the bolt carrier. And sorry about the third image not being so good, I didn't even mean to take it...

That is without a doubt, a chinese Norinco. Exact same markings as mine. Serial # is a lot lower than mine.

Sorry for not saying this in the original post, but I know that it's a Type 56 Norinco, I was just wondering about the date, value, and whether it was a Sino-Soviet or not. It isn't for sale, of coarse, I was just wondering if I got a good deal, because I got it for 200 dollars. Actually, I traded a gun that costed 200 dollars for it, but, whatever :)

I'm pretty sure with the Chinese SKS's you need to add the first two digits to 1956 for the year. 1969 in this case? And the suffix is for the country it was produced for, Bangladesh?

I'm kinda just taking a stab in the dark, someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

I'm just curious, are the three ones part of the serial number? Also if not, that makes it a 5 digit serial number, so could it be a Sino-Soviet? What does the B stand for? does it mean bangladesh? Or is it just to indicate that there was another gun with the same serial number?

A Sino-Soviet will have the 'triangle 26' mark, but no Chinese characters. Serial number will be a western letter with four numbers.
The stock will look dark red, like a Russian SKS-which of course these were, basically.
Blade bayonet, and there will be a tiny star on the butt.
Yours looks like a normal Chinese SKS, mismatched, $300ish??
Here's some Sino-Soviet pics...

Thanks for the info, wrench, though I was hoping it would be a Sino-Soviet. But, the Reciever,Bolt, and Magazine DO match.

A chinese sks was my first deer/varmint rifle. I hunted every thing from raccoon to mule deer with it. Regretfully sold it years ago to fund another gun... which happened to be an ak. I love my aks but i will have to get another sks in the future, just because i had good memories with it. I have rifles more suited for my hunting purposes, (Remington and savage bolt actions). But when i buy another sks it will still be a a fun plinker.

With just the pics to go on, it is probably a typical Chicom SKS from Jianshe. Things that help narrow your dates (besides serial #) lightening cuts on the carrier, stamped or milled trigger guard, pinned or threaded barrel, rear sight markings, etc. Try Survivors SKS boards for more detailed info.

I would say that if the barrel looks good, $200 is a pretty good deal, a clean chicom near me would go in the $350 range.
