The mags in the various guns I carry are 6, 7, and 12.

I have (4) mags for the 12-rounder, would like a few more, but should be set for a while even if they ban anything higher than 10. And 2 rounds is not that big a difference.

If they ban anything over 10 and don't grandfather them, I guess I'd have to go out and buy some 10-rounders.

Gave away my last gun that held more than 10 rounds, and with the current buying craze I'm not planning on buying another one soon. I'll wait 'til all the panic dies down.

The shift isn't just in carried guns, and it isn't immediate.

Given capacity restrictions, people will choose the most effective set of features, but every gun is still a compromise.

For carry, the people carrying now will largely continue to carry the same guns, but new armed citizens might choose a larger bore or even more concealable gun if one of the compromise criteria is capped at "## rounds in mag"*
If standard-capacity handguns become a rarity, more people will just choose a long-arm for home/property defense*
If semi-auto becomes a rarity, many people will choose a big-bore manual repeater*. I would consider a big-game-caliber levergun, myself, if I had to choose outside of the current options*

* ... or just ignore the ban, but that's a different issue. With enough restrictions, the Błyskawica design, or a grease-gun design, or a Sten design will become popular. With enough oppression, a Liberator style will become popular for a brief period, followed by popularity of captured arms from the oppressors.

more mags

Would carry more mags. If the they get there way any semi would be a NFA gun so would carry a Revolver,

Thanks,Keith

Interesting point kidcolt. However, that is not mutually exclusive with the last 3 options.

Probably answer number 1 is closest to what I'm currently carrying in both semi-autos and revolvers. I also have a few guns with 10 round mags so again not an issue.

A 10-round magazine limit would affect not my daily carry, but my civil rights. It would be like a law that allows me to vote only in local elections, but not in national elections.

A ban wont really effect me.

I usually EDC a Glock G26 or G30 which are already 10 rounds. I do want to pick up a G29 in 10mm, but that is also OK to carry.

With that said, for my G17 I have enough 17rd mags to get me through the foreseeable future. Same with my AR.

Dont really have any plans to buy other brands of semi-auto handguns so Im good.

I have a hand full of hi-cap pistol mags for G19, however I find myself more often carrying a 6 shot snub.

Where's the option for Would continue to carry with the same 15-round magazines I use currently?

Either that or I'd finally buy a 1911.
+1, except that I already have a few M1911s (one is even a 10+1 model).

Now, having said that, most of my carry guns handle 10+1 or less, but for those rare instances where I decided to carry a handgun that allowed more than 10 rounds in the mag, I would not let some stupid unconstitutional "law" change what I wanted to do.

I voted #1 that I carry less than 10, my everyday carry is an LCP. I've had a ccp for almost 30 years and went through a phase of carrying my 1911 cocked and locked, then later a few different hi cap 9's, but all those were too big, clunky and inconvenient even for my 6' 280# frame. I find the LCP is so small and light it's in my pocket all day and I never notice it.

I could have also voteted #2 as i have a pretty significant supply of mags for all my guns.

Polls are always fun but I hate the idea of talking about what we could lose and whether it would affect us. My hope and goal is that this gets voted down and politicians lose focus on gun stuff and move on.

I'm with you Sean. I'm not even thinking about limits to my gun habits.
And no, I didn't vote for any options because I don't like any of them for any of us.

I figured option 1 would be the highest (since most people on this forum carry, and that is the only option for already carrying less) but I didn't think it would be over 50%.

Perhaps, but the OP did not give a choice for continuing the carrying of the higher capacity mags that we already have.

I would think there would be a great market for magazine followers to convert a 12 rounder to 10 rounds, and other combinations as needed. Certainly cheaper than complete new mags.

I seldom carry guns that hold more than 10 rounds but I have plenty of mags for the guns that hold more than 10 rounds. I would be uneffected. If I was required to limit carry mags to 10 rounds I would probably just not carry a few of my guns anymore

That's the second option.

You should have enabled multiple choices to get a better sense of what people are thinking, IMO.

Like I said earlier... Options 2, 4, 5, and 6 all apply, but I could only choose one.

I posted under "already carry less" but I felt the "would not effect" part of the answer was wrong. It would not effect my carry pistol but it would still effect about everything else that I own, as well as it's just wrong.

I agree with the sentiment, Idaho, but the question was if it would affect your EDC. Like I said, I own and carry "high capacity" weapons and would have to change something if a law went into effect. I was just curious to see how people would react and how it would affect them.
