Would restrictions on magazine capacity affect your choice of round?

I've only skimmed this thread and I don't think I've replied here before. Ole timers memory issues. If you are capacity limited I'd carry the largest/best round you can control. IMO a bunch of folks deceive themselves about what they can truly control. It's hard to be introspective when you're a gun nut. YMMV

It goes without saying that everyone here is opposed to government restrictions on magazine capacity, but if you were, for whatever reason, stuck in a locale that limited handgun capacity to 10 rounds, would that have any effect on your choice of round?

I know that prevailing current wisdom is that when it comes to handguns, shot placement and capacity trumps bullet weight/diameter, but when capacity is limited, is it worth trying to milk extra ft. lbs. out of a handgun?
Would mostly -not- change my cartridge choice.

I primarily carry a Glock 26, granted, I carry it 12+1 most of the time currently, but I have carried it a hell of a lot 10+1 with a minuscule pinky extension or the GAP floorplate, so I would simply go back to that. Restriction would not effect my occasional Shield carry.

I do carry 15 round pistols when it's cooler, and sometimes even in the summer, (G19, VP9), so I would have to carefully use and pamper my existing magazines and do all training and practice that includes high volume shooting, dropping mags on the ground, etc, with stupid restricted 10 rounders. The 9mm still give a nice grip size, moderate recoil for quick shots, good terminal effectiveness, great supply and selection, and a budget friendly price tag. Plus my larger pistols would use the same ammo as the smaller ones which is always nice and simple.

We lived through the answer to this question with the Clinton gun ban of the the 90s, Yes, people generally will switch from 9mm to 45 ACP if magazine capacity is restricted to 10 rounds. The Clinton gun ban led to the resurgence in popularity of the 1911. If someone didn't switch to 45 ACP they usually dropped to a smaller 9mm that was not affected by the ban, such as from a Glock 17 to a Glock 26. If they didn't switch at all, they usually scrounged around and found full capacity mags, which cost about $100 each during the ban.

My primary concerns are going to remain the same, regardless of capacity, which are recoil and consistent penetration.
