Threads that complain about gouging or lack of availability of something.

While I am not in favor of banning topics ... there are a couple words used often hereabouts that just sound stupid:

"liberal" for one -- seriously, you complain about morons such as Piers Morgan and then throw this word around? You've just made us all look like morons, Rush Limbaugh admirers, neo-cons and neanderthals ...

"Sheeple?" Please, give it a rest; I picture you cruising the mall, striding confidently in a pair of desert tan boots (that have never touched soles on any desert), splendidly attired in your khaki 5.11 tactical pants and black 5.11tactical polo shirt, bisected neatly with your Wilderness Instructor Belt and a Blade-Tec holster packing your SA XDm-9, two spare mags, all sartorially and artfully concealed by a tan 30-pocket Woolrich photojournalist's vest, while you alertly scan the masses of sheeple passing by through your Oakley Razors, peering out from under the bill of a seasoned Gunsite ballcap that you found on E-Bay ....

We are hopefully seeing our ranks increase as the NRA are. As a result of this we will be getting a lot of "Whats the best...." questions and I hope that the responses of "Thats been asked before...", "Use Google....", are kept to a minimum.

We want people on our side, we need to treat them like they ARE on our side when they start asking questions.

Ah, inebriated,
توخي الحذر من عدوك مرة واحدة وصديقك ألف مرة، لصديق معبر مزدوج يعرف أكثر الشر. (أو ما يعرف المزيد عن يضر لكم
Salaam!

I'd like to see a ban on bans...gun bans, magazine bans, assault weapons bans...ban all this. It's been done to death, nobody has added anything new or constructive for ages.

Join the NRA, write you congressmen and stop talking about bans.

You forgot the extra large rotund gut conspicuously hanging out from under the 5:11 polo while obscuring the web belt buckle straining to hold up the tactical khakis . Just a minor oversight , my friend!

Ahhh, keyboard ninjas ... keeping the world interesting and safe since the advent of the www.:D

Any Glock vs. 1911 thread should be immediately closed/locked. Anyone that wants to rehash that argument can go to the archives.

By far, the "If you could only have _____ guns" threads.

And personally, even though I know it's outside THRs purpose and thus not likely, I think we should have MORE discussions about socialism and why/how this nation is going down the drain. The first step towards fixing the problem is knowledge. And it's sad so few people are aware of how collectivist the US has become.

Heh-hah-hah! Whoomp, there it is!

I would like defeatism banned. We didn't build this country with pansies and 'fraidy-cats.

Grow a pair and hit your state and D.C. representatives with letters, calls, emails or whatever works.

We cannot back down. Nothing is won yet. Go team!

Old Dog I just spat coffee over my keyboard!

Would ya give a gal some warning next time you pull a zinger out of the bag?;)

Oh and, PM stands for Post Mortem doesn't it?

Price gouging threads. We already know its happening. ;)

Glock vs.----- threads. We already know they rule.

Universal Backround Checks. We already know they'll fail.:banghead:

Sandy Hook: We weren't there, we couldn't help, hindsight solves nothing at this point.:(

I'd like to see more review threads. It's nice to get several perspectives.

There's this little virtue called self control, which when diligently applied, allows one to simply opt out of participation in topics which do not interest them. Try that first........

Personally I hate the "I have this gun in caliber xxx, but I really really really want to get another gun in the same caliber. But do I need it?"

The answer is almost always no. You want it. So just save your money, buy the damn thing, shoot it, and if you then decide you don't need two guns that shoot the same cartridge, trade the one that you shoot less toward a different gun! There will always be another gun you want! Just admit it ,and accept that part of being a firearm enthusiast is collecting different guns chambered for different cartridges.

If you are one of those people that owns one gun so you can go hunting, then make sure you buy the right gun. If that's you, you probably aren't a member of this forum.

If you ask do I need this gun on this forum, the answer will almost always be "No, but if you really want it, buy one anyway. You can always get rid of it."

Lame threads. Don't use us as a passive way of justifying your gun wants. Now if you have a question about does one gun have an advantage over a different one of the same caliber, ok. Ask away. That is a legit question.

Although I make these every so often, I find that list threads tend to be a bunch of lists with very few descriptions and even less discussion of previous items. Most of the contraversial threads that get closed because people start throwing verbal excrement at each other are closed because people are actually responding to the other's posts. But a list of "what are your top 5 wish list guns for this year" will have maybe one reply per page that isn't just a list of 5 guns and increased post count for all within.

Easy pick for me: Anything and everything involving CNN's version of Jerry Springer, one Piers Morgan. Nothing he has to say matters to me, nor should it to the protection of RKBA.

He has an audience, but it is already mostly anti-2A, so he's not convincing anyone of anything. He says the same thing to every "guest" and never has a shred of evidence to back up any of it. I will not go to those PM video links anymore, as all they do is infuriate me.

No, I'm not really suggesting we ban anything, but I'm really sick of these "PM got it handed to him" posts.

Secure from RANT.

Piers Morgan has done a TON to show my coworkers just how dumb the anti side can be. He actually helps us out among the critical thinking crowd.

Just redundant posts. With the recent, er, mud storm we've had of late with the hydra head of anti-2A activity, there are often multiple threads on the same topic. This makes the general discussion board time consuming to check in on; the poor mods can't catch them all-not without a fat raise, at least.

Search twice, post once.

Unless it's "which Glock to carry in Bear country", of course...

;)

I always get a chuckle out of the "if I could ban" threads.

Thanks for the laugh! :)

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

People like to shout out into the empty night sky and listen for a response.

People like to talk about the same old thing, over and over.
People like to ask without searching.

Maybe it is a sad statement, but people like to talk to other people, even in such a limited fashion as a forum.

So, keep them posts a flying.
What gun should I get my girlfriend? Well, I think you really wanted us to know you have a girlfriend and that she likes guns. :)

What pistol should I get, money is no object? Okay, you have plenty of money. :)

Should I get a .45 or a 9mm? Neither. You should get a .22LR and after that you will know something. :neener:

There is a scratch on my new pistol, should I send it back? After showing photos and zooming in on it you can still barely notice it. Yes, send it back so that it will get more scratches on it during shipping. :scrutiny:

This stupid gun is jamming, a gun that costs XXX should shoot anything I put in it! It should, I put a twinkie in mine and it shot it fine. If I had known that twinkies would be so valuable I would have not done so. :D

My gun shoots 6" groups at 100 yards! Piece of junk! Its not me either, I can shoot 1" groups with my XYZ gun. My friend shot it and it was fine.... ooooo....

Its all fun, and if you read all of this, just shows that we like to do this stuff we do on forums.
