When my GP100 gets back from the factory I want to buy new sights for it. It's not that there is anything wrong with the ones that come standard - they just don't do well in the low light of the indoor range I frequent.

Thoughts? Opinions? I was considering a 3-dot fiber optic that Ruger offers directly through their store.

Thanks

Everyone on the ruger forum seems to love the fire sights. My personal favorite is a fiber front and black rear.

I think you appreciate the upgrade.

I just ordered a fiber optic sight from Hiviz. I'll post again after I try it out.

Hi Viz works great. I left the rear sight as is. it is adjustable to really dial in the fiber optic. don't worry about Hi Viz telling you to use a gunsmith either, that is just a CYA thing. you can do it in about 5 minutes.

I put some Meprolights on mine, substantial improvement over the factory sights.

First visit to the range today with the Hi-Viz sites on the GP-100. the good news is that the visibilty was vastly improved; better grouping, faster re-aquire. I am sold on the Hiviz sites. i found that the red lite-pipe worked best in the range siting at black silhouette targets.

The bad news is, to test I bought the only ammo available at the local range in either .357 mag or .38 special. i bought a couple of boxes of Blazer aluminum case JHP .357 mag's for $28 a box. Made for an expensive session.

I had a set of Williams Firesights installed on mine. Pinpoint green and red dots, very bright. Big improvement.
