Chinese clone I built using a Yugo barrel, mostly Bulgarian parts, Chinese FSB and stock set, plus various other countries for misc parts

There she is :) It's a Romanian SAR-1 in 7.62x39. Bought it when I was about 16 or 17. Started with stock wood furniture. I've added a Bonesteel collapsible/side folding stock, MFT Tekko handguards, a Midwest Industries scope mount and a Vortex Strikefire red/green dot sight.

How do the underfolding stocks stack up against other folders? I'm kicking around getting one but I've heard they're rough to get even a "chin weld" with

Heres my old SAR. :)

1-1 Banger,

While I like the AK100 series folders the best, as they are really just a folding "fixed" stock, Ive always found the Romanian/German wire side folders to be the best for the money. They simply swap out with the standard fixed stocks, open one handed, are rock solid, open or closed, have the correct LOP, allow access to the controls while folded, and give a good, natural cheek weld.

per Global Trades article on AK47.net:

SSR-74S *Prototype*
SSR74S_zps18fda1c3.jpg

Only 7 prototypes of this new Arsenal USA model were made in 2002. These 5.45 caliber rifles are built on FEG receivers using Bulgarian AK-74 parts and US trigger groups.

Global Trades gave this rifle life as a fixed-stock 74, somewhere along the line somebody changed it to the SF you see here. Absolutely sweet, just about shoots itself, lightest recoil of all the AK's I own.

Thanks Jackdaddy. This was my first and only AK 47. Everyone told me to stay away from the Wasr when I was looking but I took a chance and have been very happy with it. It runs like a champ and is supprisingly accurate despite the rumors that it isn't an accurate rifle. Its a blast to shoot and I don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon.

I may pull out this ones brothers another time but here's my latest build. Started as a stock M92 I got before the scare, but she got a tune up and a makeover.. Runs like a champ now. ;)

Next step, SBR once I get the paperwork.

I'll play along. All mine are home builds so no brands to go with the names.

Romanian kit with the whole TAPCO garb. Her name is Barbie; you know, all the plastic.

Another Romanian kit this time with the original wood. She doesn't get a name as she is the first build and the ultimate beater.

The next is my Tacticool AK74 on a Bulgarian kit. Unfortunately she is heavier than the Titanic so she doesn't get out much. She is getting a strip down soon.
