I had pretty good results using varget and DT.55gr bullets. This pic. at 100 yards there are a few flyers but after I did a few clicks it was just right good enough to kill coyotes this winter.
No doubt!! The Dogtown bullets, as well as Midsouth's Varmint Nightmare, are made by one of the brand name bullet manufacturers, and should be a good choice for all around use.
Is this a 223/5.56 or a 22-250?
From my CZ 550 Varminter, a heavy-barrel .22-250 with 4.5-14.5X Pentax scope, I have fired five CONSECUTIVE 5-round groups of under 1/2" from 100 yards. This load used Dogtown 55 hollow-points and a stiff charge of H380.
I can safely say that THIS rifle using this load is truly a sub-minute-of-angle combination, and that is not a claim I make lightly after fifty years or so of messing with rifles.
One more nice thing about the outfit is that it maintains its zero very reliably from month to month... or even longer. This likely is at least partly due to the heavy laminated stock. I bought the rifle from Scheels' used-gun rack in Reno, and have no idea why the original owner sold such a marvelous rifle.... maybe hard times, because there surely is nothing wrong with the rifle itself.
I have great faith in the Dogtowns, too... the lower cost just makes things all the better.
