A new campaign being coordinated by CT Carry - You can support it by signing up here: https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/10251-connecticut-chooses-liberty?locale=en

From CT Carry:

Connecticut gun owners are being impacted by the 2013 Gun Ban, much of which went live January 1st, 2014 and April 1st, 2014. Despite a clear super-majority of Connecticut residents opposing such measures, hundreds of thousands of Connecticut residents were declared felons as anti-rights groups and a corrupt Connecticut Legislature connived to pass laws under the cover of night, literally, via 'emergency certification'.

Now, the anti-rights groups and politicians are continuing their attacks against gun owners by trying to demonize and minimize us through social media and our corrupt local media. They are calling us 'the KKK', 'the lunatic fringe' and stating that we are 'bullies' further implying that we are violent or somehow intimidating. We are exercising our natural rights to freely associate, assemble and possess tools to affect our own defense; all the while trying to keep from being locked in a cage or shot to death by the police.

We ask that everyone that supports the natural right to bear arms to join us and show both the anti-rights groups and the Connecticut politicians that they have overplayed their hand. They have chosen a battle here in Connecticut and this is where it will stay, and we will prevail.

Please get this out to as many supporters as you can and show the country and the world that Connecticut Chooses Liberty!

That's great, thanks! Don't forget to tell your friends!

Also, you don't need to live in CT to sign-up. We appreciate any solidarity shown by those in other states.

I'll be there too. Perhaps some of our local THR members can use it as an opportunity to meet? I know there are a couple of us around.
I don't want to derail the thread, so PM me and I can help organize.

We just passed 1,000 supporters and a reach of over 300,000 people. Thanks to everyone who helped out. 4 more days to go. Now is the time to double down. Tell your friends, their friends, your neighbors. We currently have a small lead over CAGV, but that could change at any time.

So what's the point of the page? Just to say that CT chooses Liberty? I heard there was some kind of rally/protest this coming weekend in CT, does this have anything to do with it? There aren't any details on the page linked.

And if it's just a shout out to let people know of the injustice in CT that's good too.

Basically, from what I understand, CT Carry has basically issued an ultimatum to the Ct govt....either repeal the law, or come and take their guns. They're more or less, from what I can tell, calling the govt bluff and challenging them to either repeal the law or risk the consequences of attempting to confiscate them. Ct set themselves u[ for a showdown eventually, and these people, right or wrong, are attempting to force the issue. Personally, I support them in that a law that is unenforceable and only meant to intimidate isn't much of a law at all. Either follow thru and see what happens, or go back the drawing board, and see if theres a solution that everyone can LIVE with....

Regarding the rally on Sat afternoon, does anyone know if shuttle buses will be available to provide transportation between Cabela's and the Capitol, similar to last year? I've searched online, checking the CCDL web site and also Cabela's East Hartford store, but was unable to find any info on shuttle buses.

DaBruins- I have no idea, but why not try calling Cabela's and asking?

Ryanxia - yes, this coincides with the rally. At noon on Saturday, Thunderclap will blast this message out on the social media accounts of anyone who signs up (it will be only time Thunderclap access the account and the only message it will send). This timing will coincide with the rally. It's just a way to amplify our message (our being CT residents - I don't want to speak for CTCarry who organized this).

DaBruins, I'm not aware of any shuttles running (doesn't mean they aren't). There is a carpool thread that was just started on CTGuntalk.

Estimates are about 3-5,000 in person at the rally. On the Thunderclap, we had approx 2500 sign ups and a 'reach' of just under 1million people (908,277).
