Glock 30 .45 vs. 1911 .45

Sounds like you want a Lightweight Commander in 9mm.
It weighs about as much as a Glock 19 and is single stack. The 9mm version carries 9+1 with flush-fit mags. Grip-size and manual of arms will be the same as your Wilson and the reduced recoil of the 9mm will make up for the increased recoil from the lighter weight.

Maybe it's just me, but I can comfortably conceal a full size 1911. I would prefer that over anything else. I like the look, the feel, and a hammer. Just my opinion

I can conceal my 5" 1911 easier and more comfortably than my Glock 19. I dont even know where the CC holster for my G19 is...

I second the recommendation for the Kahr K9. I used a P9 to replace a 3.5" 1911 for "smaller pistol" carry.

I have a 30 Gen4, very accurate gun! Recoil is light and it holds 11rds of .45 ACP, or with the flush mag it still holds 10rds. So to me you get a lighter weight gun that holds more ammo, and costs a lot less.

The 1911 is going to be thinner in the grip and hold less ammo, but probably be prettier, if that counts for anything.

your kind of all over the place... I would suggest going to a range that has rentals, and trying everything that peaks your interest.

Maybe you just needed more time with the 1911. There is no difference in my draw stroke with either weapon. Only difference is that the thumb movement that wipes of the 1911 safety has no effect on the Glocks. Thumb does the exact same thing in either case.

I agree 100%, if you have the draw stroke down pat with a 1911, a Glock doesn't offer any problems.
While I'm not a Glock shooter I have no problems going from a 1911 to a HK P7, Sig P220 or even a revolver. As long as you don't put something with a safety that up is fire I'm ok.

I am so used to pocket carry, I haven't used a "real" holster in ages. If I have a large gun I use one of those Galco Bikini, jobs that fit's every gun I own. Or a XDS tybe of Fobus, paddle.

I second the Kahr suggestion. Better trigger than a Glock IMO, better grip, more slender and concealable. And you don't need 15+ rounds for self-defense. If you can't get it done in the first 3 seconds you are in a world-class heap of trouble.

Which model Fobus holster?

Been carrying a G36 for a couple years now. I like that it is small and a big fist. 6+1 is plenty. I have extra mags if needed.
