Is there any difference in accuracy between large and small pistol primers in .45 ACP? I have reloaded for both using Titegrtoup and Hodgdson Universal, and I am beginning to wonder. Anyone out there have any experience with either of these? I have about 350 S.P.P's, and I would like to be able to use them.
thanks, John

I personally have seen no difference between the two in accuracy or velocity. Brass these days is expensive so use what you have without worries...

I load them both the same, and notice no difference in accuracy out to 35 yards, which is as far as our pistol range berm is. Some bullseye shooters are claiming better accuracy at the 50 yard line with small pistol primed .45 acp brass.

Hope this helps.

Use 'em and shoot 'em.

Maybe I am not a good enough shot to be able to tell any difference, but they sure seem to shoot the same for me out of my 1911 and my Blackhawk Convertible.

All else being equal small primers give me slightly smaller groups off sandbags at 25 yards. Somebody on another forum chrono'd his loads and found that SP's gave up 25-35FPS over LP.
