Thinking of a accurate "pest exterminator" and as a shooter for fun. Like the reviews of this rifle. Decided against a Henry as think a bolt action with my Leupold MK II 3x9 would be the ticket. A couple questions for those that have shot/own this gun;

1- Can a silencer be fitted on this rifle ? (Legal here in Idaho with a license).

2- Pro's and Con's of the rifle?

3- Accuracy ?

Thanx, SLIM.

The rifle is not advertised with a threaded muzzle for a suppressor, but you could have that done fairly reasonably.

Pros -- accurate.
Cons -- cost of ammo. I much prefer my .22 Hornet.

Accurate -- good enough for varmints out to 200 yards or so.

I have one in 17 HMR and love it.

Not sure about the suppressor.

Very accurate, nice handling gun, fun to shoot.

Ammo a bit pricey.

I have one in 17hmr blued that I love- as far as ammo price etc... for a critter gitter the 17 is not unreasonable in today's craziness and world of shortages. A brick would last the average varminter a while if used only/mostly on game!

Thanx all, the ammo availability is not an issue as I have a supply due to having 2 .22 mag revolvers. This will be my next purchase, after reading comments, might not go with the silencer, seems it is hardly noticeable. Should be fun!!

With a suppressor, a .22 or .17 mag will be "quieter" but still have a noticeable pop. If you are wanting really quiet you'll need rounds that are right about 1000fps such as a .22 LR sub sonic or standard velocity target, though it limits your shots with a rainbow trajectory.

My wife's squirrel rifle is a suppressed cheapy Savage but she loves it and it's deadly on vermin.

I got the the blue Plain Jane in .22 mag. It's fair with most ammo but really shines with Hornady 30 grain ballistic tip. Hard to find around here tho.
