The RUGER OLD ARMY Club

For what it's worth; I just ordered the rydon load six loader for uberti .44- the man Gary. Said it won' t work on ROA's .(figgers)So I ask if they planed an adapter . Answer- since they (ruger) no longer make the revolver. He didn't know if the demand was there. You who have em and really shoot em(if you got em ;smoke em)an your interested ; please let him know. He said he would need a cylinder or an injun ear drawing.i guess there air 't any ROA's in Pa. tel# 570-726-0291 I've been dreaming of one of these for a while no way I could
Make it for $ 32.00

Foggy64 says he's tried it and the ROA cylinder appears to him to line up ok. He just lined things up and hasn't yet actually loaded the ROA cylinder yet, but he plans to test it. See the thread "Load all six at once" about the loader.

Good news

Thanks Mykeal , good to know ,maybe I won't have to jury rig after all. I had been thinking of making one , to load six , from getting one of those traditions single chamber loaders ,that are a little shabby. If I like it I will get a spare.

I just got mine yesterday. The ROA cylinder is larger in diameter than the Pietta cylinder and the chamber spacing is a tiny bit farther apart. The ROA cylinder contacted the rear wall of the tool and kept it from sitting down perpendicular. The rams almost lined up but were slightly off.

Perhaps grinding the front surface of the back support would give enough clearance for the tool to work properly. However, I get the impression it would require excessive force to get the rams all lined up in the ROA cylinder's chambers.

It works fine with the Pietta cylinders.

Stainless ROA's are generally available through online auction sites at prices between $400 and $700, with rare or unusual models commanding around $1000. Sale prices usually end up over $500. There are currently about a dozen for sale on Gunbroker.com.

No pics from me, that would require technological know-how... ;)

Got an old ROA from a friend's widow after he passed away, w/ the target sights and yellow cardboard Ruger box. Still haven't got around to firing the thing, but it's too nice a mechanical device to part with, so I've still got it kicking around... :D

Please gentlemen, don't spoil the ROA Club thread with this endless dispute. Discuss it on the phone or by registered letter or through your lawyers...just let the thread go back to pretty photos of our Old Armies. Please.

Hi everyone. I want to share a photo of an ROA my loving wife Penny found last Friday night on a Facebook page for buying, selling and trading guns here in Kentucky. We spoke to the gentleman, who was asking $650 for the package. He bought it new in around 98-99 along with the Rand D .45 Colt cylinder from a dealer in Madisonville, KY. Money is snug for peny and me since being forced into early retirement several years ago, but knowing my love of ROA's, Penny urged me to allow her to buy it for me. The man said "yes" he would take $600 for the package and penny and I made arrangements to meet him in his home town 90 miles up the road to look at it.
Included in the package are the pinch frame stainless 7 1/2 inch ROA, nipple wrench, original plastic Ruger box, all papers and the lock. The RandD cylinder, which he thought was stainless (turns out it is nickeled though but that's stil OK by me), came with the red felt bag, box and sleeve marked as being from Brownell's. Also included were an almost full box of Hornady balls with some white dusting from age, and a sticker with the $7.25 price on the box.
The gun was well kept, as was the .45 Colt cylinder. Both shined up beautifully I must say and Penny and I are so tickled. I believe it was a fair deal, with the seller doubling his money and Penny and me getting a very desirable gun and accessory at a fair price of $600. I'm going to sell one of my other stainless ROA's soon hopefully to help recoup the expense to family savings, but with this pretty addition we will still have three ROA's and two .45 Colt cylinders. Thanks for looking. Don P1250835.gif

Followed a link from a search and ended up at The High Road. Thought to myself..."self, you've been here before." Tried a few user name/password combos I have used in the past and low and behold. Haven't been on since 2009

Thought I would share a couple of my ROA's

Top one is cut to 2.75 inches, has a Belt Mountain base pin,a bobbed grip and a cerakote finish

The bottom one is a .5. incher that my wife found at an estate sale last year for 150.00

Does anyone know if Belt Mountain is still in business. I ordered a pair of quick change cylinder conversions over a month ago and cannot get response to e mails. Or phone messages. Just wondering.

I want everyone on here to know that Edo, from Classicballistx settled the problem we had in a manner above what was needed. I'm sorry it took me so long to post this but I was in the hospital. I recommend Classicballistx to all.
