777 vs bp in a Dragoon

I think you would have to load each and see what the chronograph tells you.

Acording to this chart 48.8 grains of 777 is equivalent to 60 grains Goex FFF:

At the same time 50 grains of 3F Triple 7 is equivelent to 50 grns of 3F Olde Eynsford or Swiss BP. And these are quite similar in power to Hazards Pistol powder, one used during the Civil War.

And then Mike Beliveau's testing of T7 against standard Goex through 2 ROA's showed T7 was still head and shoulders above Goex despite the 15% reduction of powder. Maybe that is more accurate in a rifle vs a pistol?

I shoot 40 grains of T7 in my Dragoon and it is plenty.
