Did a bunch of research and liked what I learned about the Alentro. They have been discounted, so what's out there is what's available. Should be here in a few days, this is my second air pistol purchase in a month, we'll see how much better it compares to a Beeman P17.

Really like the P17 so far as well, shot a 10 round group today I could cover weth a dime. That's about as good as these 71 year old eye's can do with open sights.

No comparison to a P17. the Webley can be pumped up to 3 times and has lots more power. but that also comes at almost 10X the cost. for the money, you can't beat a P17. I'd love to have one but finances will have to improve. Besides that, I just bought a Hatsan 95.

Crosman 13xx has the same power, greater simplicity and less plastic, and it costs only twice what a P17 does. Also been in production for over 30 years and going strong. There will be parts for this gun forever, with lots of aftermarket support.

But it doesn't look like a plastic Desert Eagle. :)

Of course it is your money. I thought oldnamvet might be interested. I have had good success working over the triggers on my 13xx's. Simple as pie to take this gun to pieces and back.

I love my glocks but the plastic on these airguns isn't quite the same. :) I also like the simplicity of my glocks and the 13xx is as simple as they get. There's also something to be said for an airgun that looks distinctly like an airgun

I do look forward to your review of the alecto though! It looks like pure fun.

No skin off my back either way. If you can afford it, WANT is all that matters. The quality of these modern pneumatics is amazing, plastic and all.
