Have a Charles Daly DDA 10-40/45 that I needed a recoil spring, slide stop and spring that holds the slide stop. Looked at all the other sources no luck, they haven't sold this gun in a long time so called KBI and they have the parts ordered them and all with some effort as the parts are not...
I was cleaning my Gaucho 45 Colt and lost a bushing (that I never found) called Taurus and the part is they fit only so I had to ship it back to them. Got a notice of receipt last week and it stated that it would be from 5 to 6 weeks, so I resigned myself that I would be lucky to get it back...
My brother in law is a long time insurance adjuster, he told me that very few people have there serial numbers recorded. The result is a denied claim and upset people.
I just took pictures with SN and recorded them on my HD and a CD and put the Cd in a fire proof vault. If you have firearms...
I took a Mosin Nagant to the gunshow and no one seemed intrested, one of the dealers ask if he could see it handed it to him and he made an offer. Said I will trade you and I pay him $150, sorry I only have $130 he said I do it. I just happned to have a 500g hollow base mold and about 200# of...
I was told that I was going bird hunting this year by my son, said I had been lazy long enough. OK I said I do not have a SG so went by a pawn shop and there was a un-conventional 12 gauge it was a Winchester M-59 never seen one so looked at the tag and it was $175 I'll give you $150 no said...
I had a Bulgarian Makarov that every time I carried it rust would form on the slide and frame on the left side which is against my skin, (its hot in Texas).
So I sanded the slide and frame after I took it apart then put GunKote* on it. Looks good
I started on bolt action mil-surps and that to simi auto mil-surp and then to single shot comercial and then to big-bore. I didn't get rid of anything just seem to enjoy shooting the single shot big bores better. Here is one reason a sharps and it will put a 405g chunk of lead in a 1" group at...
for good trades, I traded a old Mathews bow that I gave $100 for three years ago for a Taurus 605 stainless. I haven't shot the bow in two years so not going to miss it.
I went to the range today with my Virginia Dragoon 44 Mag it is accurate at 25 yds but even more accurate at 50 yds. I think I will take to the river bottom deer hunting it is a "blast" for sure.
Need to get me a shooting glove as it tends to bruse my middle finger knuckel, but not enough to...
I work part time in a archery/ gun shop and this came in on a trade Tuesday, and the more I looked at it I had to have it.
It is a Virginia Dragoon SAA in 44 mag in as new condition quite a feet as it was made in 1979.
I went to visit my FFL's place of business this morning and he had traded for a 45 auto I or he had never seen, it isn't listed in the Blue Book so I told him I would try to find out. He is computer backward to say the least.
It is marked on the slide like this:
ASAI ZURICH- OERILKON ONE...
Look what I traded for, and before you ask it is very accurate and I have $50 in it. It is a Fushia (hot pink) Charles Daly made by BUL Isarel 45 ACP. I tried to put some of the Fussion by Krylon paint on it, didn't work scratched real easy. The gripps stuck pretty good so I left it in it.
a 357 hammerless Taurus 605 gun is very accurate out to 20 yds, but with Speer Gold Dots it hurts my trigger finger, the guard is almost to small, (it is the same size as my son's S&W) took the top off of my knuckle hurt like crazy.
Wish they made the guards a little larger, but of course...
I traded a Bersa Thunder for this SAA in 357 Mag, had plenty of CCW but didn't have a fun gun like this. shoots good handles good A+ in my books.
Here are some pictures.
