Maybe I missed it, but I did not see anyone suggest to you to find a gun store that has a range and rents out guns. I would suggest doing this if possible to save you time and money.:)
GDCPony,
You could probably buy into anything that does not invade your comfort zone. The 2d Amendment,as written, makes me feel all worm and fuzzy and ready to stand up for it as written.
I shoot the same .41 Mag. at 200 yds. without a scope of course. I use 240gr. LSWC.
Putting a scope on a hand gun is like painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa.
Just so happens that my eye doctor is a shooter. I had both eyes done. He set me up for long distance shooting and needing glasses to read.
I can't believe how much better I can shoot and I can read without glasses at full arms length.
Mid range is like long range.
I have 2 rifles and 2 hand guns that date back to the early 1900's. I refinish the stocks and changed the grips on the hand guns and refinished the metal.
Screw worrying about the gun value. I am a shooter not a prissy collector.:barf:
I suscribe to all of the gun rags and I have come to the conlusion that the writters are whorse to the companies that send them products\weapons that are sent to them.
I shoot my .45 Colt at targets. I quit shooting animals and humans years ago. I reload and cast my own bullets, 255gr. LSWC. If I were to take it to the next level I would feel very comfortable.
Ok, I'll be the first to jump in. I am a RSO and I have never heard a range command of "Ok, time, to stop" ??:fire:
If it was me I would look to my right and left to insure no one was going down range then I would continue to keep shooting.:)
I am also old school. I never heard of "double tap" when we had the 30- 06,
.308 or the .45. You really don't expend that many rounds in a fire fight. I feel every comfortable carrying a M-1 Garand, M-14, or a 1911.
The M-16 brought us the spray and pray. With this you would need a lot...
I could see it becomming an elitist hobby if the ammo prices keeps rising and income stays the same.
It it way cheaper to reload and cast your own bullets. I have been using Lee reloading products for over 40+ yrs. I started out with the hand loader, progressed to the single stage, then...
