The Great P Mag Shortage Of 2013

I bought 50 last year to send to my 'kids' deployed overseas. Sent them each 5, and have the rest sitting in my safe. I am trying hard to avoid the temptation to start selling some of them at these inflated prices.

Close call with a pit bull

Seems to me you were in control of the situation, didn't loose your calm, and had a firm shoot/no shoot line drawn in your mind. I am glad it turned out okay for you and your pup.

    Kinda funny

2 things. 1. The comments make that article. 2. Was anyone else 1/2 expecting to see him holding the rifle sideways also ????

    Quickly grab your nearest firearm!

At work, which is a no no zone.... closest weapon of any type is either a pair of scissors, manufacturer unknown, or a ball-point pen, a Bic Mk2, medium point, in black. :-D

Wounded Warriors Project doesn't deal with companies involved with Firearms?

Something isn't ringing true here on some level. http://www.therepublic.com/view/story/498d6891381c4bd2ae91722ccd2534ce/IN--Exchange-Wounded-Warrior-Hunt

A Gun In The Works: How many of you have to have a project gun?

I have a circa 1919 manufactured Winchester 1897 in 12ga. that is my current winter project. It looks like something tried to scratch the bluing off it, the wood is a mess, and it was probably last cleaned in 1916. Cant wait!

Parents Say I am Not Welcome Thanksgiving Because I have Guns.. What To Do??

This isn't about Guns, as many have said. This is about control. This is about being responsible for your own decisions. Only you can put perspective to where spending time with your family fits in your personal situation. If they are above carrying your firearm, you have your answer. If they...

    Gun club membership??

I was a member of both an indoor and and outdoor range for about a year but recently transitioned to outdoor only. More variety in what I can shoot and distances. It is less than 30 minutes from home and the cost is far less than the indoor range which has become over crowded over the last 2...

    Michigan/Snowmoblie

There are few and far between places to stop on the trails in the UP. Last time we did a trip up that way, I was carrying my concealed handgun. To be safe, we did the ol' flip flop, you go in, I go in, etc. With the one outside keeping an eye on the gear and the guns. I had no interest in...

I really don't want to spend $60 on cleaning rods

+1 on the Otis kit. I have this one, no issues with it doing what needs to be done. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/788293/otis-tactical-gun-cleaning-system

What's the most memorable THING you've ever put a bullet through.

...to cover him when I hear BLAM BLAM... I see him take a few steps back into the hall, shoulders slumping, pistol at his side... think "!@##$%%$^&%^&*" I body check him from the door, down the hall and turn to see what is coming/checking him for wounds/grabbing for the radio/and a million...

    .22 Question

I own more .22 rim fire firearms than any other caliber. I find them to be a load of fun to shoot and plink about, bang for the buck is a major plus. I second the 'go to a local range and try some out' answer; no better way to find something you will enjoy shooting than to shoot it.

    why judge the caliber

Some people have nothing nice to say about anything. If you enjoy it, that is all that matters. If you try to convince me it is the best/only/etc. round for doing 'XXX', I might disagree.

How do you prioritize your gun purchases?

I am a need before want purchaser. I have a list and work through it as things come and go. I have said more than once, "its' not on the list" in the face of some decent deals. The current incarnation of the list is below. flintlock blackpowder rifle .50 cal 1940-1945 manu. M-1...
