I have the Leupold VX-2 Ultralight 3x-9x 33mm LR Duplex which weighs 8.8 ounces on my 223 and my 300 BO. I had a Burris Fullfield II 4.5x-14x 42mm Ballistic Plex on my 223 for a while but that scope weighs 18 ounces. Both scope manufactures make great optics with good glass in them. Burris makes...
Heck of a weapon and service life
Got to train with/shoot an M2 back in 2004 in preparation for a deployment to Mosul, Iraq that didn't happen. As an Air Force Fire Fighter it was just amazing to get to train on some of the Army toys. I'm glad to see that they are planning on keeping the M2...
I have not toured the Starline plant even though it is right next door. Most of the time when I'm in Sedalia and I stop in at Sierra I'm on a bit of a time crunch. They do have some great people working at Sierra.
Heading south on 65 coming in on the North end of Sedalia the first stop light you get to if you turn left and go past the bottling company and take another left you'll be right there at the door to the seconds store of Sierra.
I live 30 miles from the Sierra Factory and even in the spring when they run their pistol bullets, it's hard to get factory second pistol bullets and I'm not sure why. Every time I'm in there it seems that they don't have something I want/need and so I just get more of what I really don't need...
45 Cal .452 225 gr FTX® (45 Colt)
This is the bullet I shoot, using sabots and two 50 grain Pyrodex pellets, from a CVA Staghorn Magnum 24" barrel .50 caliber with a rate of twist of 1 in 32", topped with a fixed 4X Simmons scope. I have never recovered a bullet that I shot deer with. I've shot...
Sierra 165 SBT Game King
I shoot this bullet from my 1954 H&R M1 Garand and I push it with IMR 4064 (don't quite remember the grains). I've got a Burris 2-7 scout scope mounted forward of the receiver and shooting from a rest on a bench @ 100 yards can chew out the middle 2" area of bulls-eye...
.38 - In a Ruger Blackhawk .357 as plinking rounds

.30-06 - In a 1954 H&R M1 Garand with Ramline black synthetic stock, Ultimak forward optic mount and Burris 2-7x32mm scout rifle scope with...
Here in Missouri we have a 9 day early goose season which opened the morning of October 3rd and closed last night October 11th. My buddy and I along with my dog were able to hunt opening weekend and then it was just my dog and me for the closing weekend. 6 birds during 4 total days of hunting...
My friend's granddaughter deer hunts with my Armalite M15A4 .223 Remington rifle. We've spent numerous hours on the range with her and that rifle. At 100 yards it is dead on and she can keep an entire 10 round magazine of Sierra 65 grain Gameking bullets inside of a chewing tobacco can. Just...
I shoot both the green tip 165 grain 308 caliber Nosler BT from my Springfield M1A and the red tip 140 grain 284 caliber Nosler BT from my Savage bolt action 7mm-08...never found any of the tips in any deer that I've shot with either firearm but occasionally will find bits of lead and copper...
...fire from including wearing a gas mask and always finishing the course of fire before time was up and cease fire was called. Was it a pain in the a**? Yes! I was reissued a different M4 (that worked as designed) right before we deployed and only had to go back and sight it in since I had...
For hunting
Like edmo01, I carry my 6" Ruger Blackhawk .357 Magnum in a cross-draw rig when I'm deer hunting in Missouri. Not only does it keep the handgun available for draws with either hand when carrying a slung rifle on strong side shoulder and keeps the rifle from banging on the revolvers...
1938-40 Winchester Model 61 pump chambered in .22 S, L, & LR...inherited from my maternal Grandmother which she kept for the first born grandson (me) after her husband past away before I was born.
This is what the Missouri Regulations state..."It is illegal to leave or abandon commonly edible portions of game." Not exactly certain who decides what is "commonly edible"...me or the game warden? The state regulation does not elaborate.
