I am looking at several holster for carrying a Shield AIWB. Some of the holsters have a wedge to tuck the grip of the gun into the body. I see the need for this on a gun the size of a Glock 17 etc but is there a benefit for a Shield.
This morning I left Americus enroute to Richland to pick up my Dad to bring him back for church. Enroute I saw two friends in one of their parents driveway enjoying a girls weekend and both from out of state and looped back around to speak. I thought nothing of it. I got out and went to hung...
Last night I took my 2" Model 60 J frame to the range and was very happy with the results. Most of my shooting was done at 25 yards at a 8" gong as well as a 6" plate rack. Simply because I wanted to see how I would perform at distance. I shot 150 rounds 100 being LSWC and 50 being LSWCHP +P...
I am curious if Im the only one that cant carry OWB? I have tried several holsters. Seems everytime I try OWB the rear of the slide always hits the bone on the inside of my elbow. Am I doing something wrong?
Recently I've shot more than I should at 25 yards. I say this because at some point it's no longer practice and simply chunking ammo. I sometimes get frustrated because I'm not make regular hits on the 6" plate. I shoot everything I have from 3-25+ yards. I did find that when I move to 7-10...
I was just thinking this question had never been discussed so I thought I would ask.
I have heard the story of 10 gun guys sitting down at dinner and all have a J frame in their pocket most as their primary if they were carrying at all. Most of the police officers I know carry nothing off...
I on occasion carry my S&W 60 or my Glock 26 in a pocket. I know there is great debate on if a 26 is a pocket gun and I am good with that. The weight doesn't bother me. I know there are those who pocket carry either of these. What pants have you found that have deep enough pockets for pocket...
By the time I got off work tonight it was dark. I drove about 20-30 mins to the range anyway and it wasn't until I fired the first shot I realized how little I had ever fired in the dark. I was not in complete darkness. I parked my jeep with the lights shining on the targets. The targets were a...
I went it the range today. I sorta ran a 5x5x5x5as described by Mr Werner as 5 rounds, 5 yards in 5 seconds in a 5" circle. For the sake of ammo I ran 3 rounds at 5 yards in 3 seconds on a 4 1/2" tree. The results are as follows.
This time I only had the 60,26&19. All from aiwb white...
I currently have a Mika round cut and a Uncle Mike's #3 that I use when I carry my S&W Model 60 in my pocket. I find both of these work well in shorts and khaki's and I find the 60 my Sunday gun more and more. I also find my 60 being my yard work gun. Recently I have found my J frame shooting...
A few months ago I purchase a 17 to accompany my 26 and 19. At that time I made a post about shooting my 26 better than my 17. http://www.theoutdoorstrader.com/thr...ter-than-my-17 A little update. I have now spent time with the 17 and I shoot it better than either of my other Glocks and as well...
I am curious if there is any downside to carrying a full size gun. The gun in question is a Glock 17. I bought the 17 a while back and at first I was a little dissapointed. I found I shot my 26 better so I sorta just put it in a drawer. I have now spent more time with it and I shoot it well. I...
Yesterday I picked up a Glock 17 and took it straight to the range. What I learned is I need more trigger time with it before I decide to carry it. I really wish I had taken my 19 to shoot beside it to have more of a comparison. I had my 26 since that is what I have been carrying. I found I shot...
Today I went to the range I had my 13-4 on my hip and my 642 in my pocket. I figured since I realistically have my 642 in my pocket quite often I would start from there. I had already loaded it with the range ammo I had brought which was Federal 130 fmj. I pulled the gun and fired and on the...
I was talking to a friend the other day and I was telling him I am tired of flip flopping platforms and I want to pick one and really train. I am going in a few days and we are going to do some range work to help me find where I should place my focus. The guns I will be taking are a 642, 3"...
I purchased a never fired mint condition 3" model 13-4 and it came into my FFL and I picked it up yesterday. I have purchased several nice S&W revolvers and quickly sold them because they were "too nice to carry". When this opportunity came up I jumped and decided this would be my carry piece...
I am considering purchasing either a Bersa or Firestorm in 22lr. I figure it will be small enough to carry occasionally yet large enough to shoot well. Will have the ability to practice a lot due to ammo cost. I took my wife shooting last week and she found the recoil of a 38 a little much and...
I am at a crossroads and trying to decide. I currently have a 642 and a 4" model 13. I am thinking of adding another revolver to my carry rotation. I like shoot the 13 better than any other gun I own. I shoot the 642 quite well. I am looking at the 60 because I feel the added weight will help me...
