My only experience is my current one. I bought a Trapper in .45colt. With sights centered, it shoots @8 inches to the right and the stock cracked in the tang area with factory ammo. I sent it back to Winchester. It's still there. Hopefully, things will work out.

Handled one last week. Price was less than 1600.00. I am sure some will love it. Personally, since no one is asking, I would have rather seen a beavertail forearm and a 20 gauge version. Oh well, my quest for a Browning BSS 20ga continues...

I got lucky today. I bought a NIB 77R in 7x57. I don't know the year it was made. But it has the tang safety and red rubber butt pad. Also, something that suprised me; the trigger is Sweet! (for a Ruger).

If you must have a 454, look around for a used Freedom Arms (field grade).
