I’ve owned three MK 1’s and many MKII’s over the years. I’ve also shot many a friend’s MK III.
I’ve firmly settled on “generational” ownership of several MK II’s in stainless. My kids cut many of their formative skills on them.
For me, the MK 1 is a bit light on features while the MK III has...
Happy New Year Arizonan - and all.
I’ll take a stab at this, keeping in mind your primary stated purpose of wanting to add the .45 Colt in your mix, which is nostalgia. I'm also regret that I'm running
the risk of "stating the obvious" here.
The reasons that many folks would choose the .45...
Yes, yes, yes. I too was gotten. Great stuff, thank you!
That still didn't take away my thunder, wanting to shout out - NEITHER !!!
Santa may carry a .45ACP, I can't say for sure. He's always moving too fast
around these parts, and maybe that’s the reason (too few rounds?).
I can live...
Ruger Six-series fan again . . .
I believe that “balance” and overall weight are two very different issues.
Some folks relate .357 magnum revolvers as being mostly range or home defense firearms, so its actual weight may never seriously enter
into their assessment. I believe that’s where...
I agree with Confederate on a Ruger Six-series revolver as the best .357 magnum.
Out of more than fifteen 357's that I've had over my lifetime (including 3 Colt Pythons many Smith & Wessons) the Ruger Security / Speed / Service Six models have been the most reliable (by far) and all were...
I concur with many here. It's a true treasure.
Overall, the 640 / .38SPL-only version is the best steel snubby I've ever handled. It's a pre-lock S&W, classic in it's dimensions, and in stainless.
They are solidly in the top tier of my searches when I'm able to add something to the...
Freedom Arms Model 97 Premier Grade
Ejector rod housing screw broke during hunts, and on two separate guns.
Result; housing, ejector rod and spring 100% lost in the vegetation . . . both times.
I knew to tighten them down enough (without over-tightening them) and use blue Locktite.
One was...
I've been considering the purchase of a new, Smith & Wesson M&P pistol for a while now.
I decided to check around with some major suppliers and gunbroker to see what their mag
prices are doing. Many places are out-of-stock; more so than I would have imagined.
Anybody know what's up?
Congrats - you own one of the toughest and most problem-free revolvers ever made IMO.
The fact that is also looks and feels great is the very best kind of bonus.
Happy shooting !
I know this is what you seek because it says so in the text! :neener:

Still, that's my idea of the ultimate CCW. Even though that one is priced way below market right now, I know I won't be able to afford it.
Santa!!!!!!!!
Hi RockyMtnTactical,
I really wasn’t referring to one’s recall of an incident.
My mention was geared more towards the operator retaining enough
of his or her basic senses in order to complete their “mission”.
-thanks
wrs840,
On the Sks I shot (and was impressed with) I wrote down that is was an Sks "M". The owners comment was either that is was a Para, or like a Para. Just not sure, and it was in context with it's superb handling qualities.
The rest was wondering about its rep.
Thanks all, that's very good news.
At the range that M model Sks looked almost as low-profile as a lever action, yet packed the full punch (and most of the reliability) of any AK. My shooting bud also suggested that I wouldn't have to convert one to a gas-piston design or a serious caliber...
