I purchased a 78g brand new in the early 70's and still own it.
The adjustable trigger versions of these air pistols are incredible.
These guns were made to look like S&W's model 41 22 rimfire target pistol
(but they actually mimic more closely the model 46 target pistol with more matted finish...
I always shoot Lee 200 grain SWC, cast from old school wheel weights in my Ruger Old Army.
I bump the base of the bullets into a .446" sizing die until they will start into the cylinder, and load with 35 grains of powder and a lubed felt wad.
The bullets seat easily, and the gun is super...
I intended to buy a diablo as soon as I saw one; but after researching them I found out they tend to shoot in the six hundreds Foot per second which would
be fun with ball but less so with shot (IMO).
It is a reproduction of the military 1903. I have no idea which version.
I personally would prefer one with a peep sight and pistol grip C stock, but
with milled parts; my old eyes don't work well with "open" sights.
both .45 caliber.
I have seen them on sale sometimes for what seems like a very good price, $350.
Any feedback or comments about these models would be appreciated.
Thanks!
I purchased a Norinco ATD in the '90's on sale at Service Merchandise for $100.
It shoots 10 shot 50 yard groups of about an inch with low cost ammo.
I installed a Weaver scope base backwards, and mounted a 1.5X, 3/4" tube pistol scope "scout" style.
Some of these rifles came with a padded...
Sir, In the 1939 movie "Stagecoach", John Wayne used a large loop model 92
"trapper".

I never see them mentioned on here. Are they in general "liked"?
I purchased one back in the 90's for a pretty low price ($180), and although I think it's kinda ugly, it is very reliable.
Comments, please?
I'm a fan of Ross Seyfried, winner of the 1981 IPSC Handgun World Shoot, former
African guide, a friend of Elmer Keith, and gun writer.
He calls "controlled trigger manipulation" stroking the trigger.
...at longer distances, say 40 yards, the high muzzle velocity loads lose velocity at a faster rate.
I have been a serious shooter of air rifles for many years. I'm very familiar with
that.
Lower velocity loads usually pattern better and stay together longer
I wage war against starlings every...
I have a Lee slug mold that casts 12 gauge 7/8 oz shotgun slugs that are about .680" diameter.
In case you're not familiar with these slugs, they are that small in diameter because they're supposed to be loaded in plastic wads.
Is there any reason that I can't load these in a muzzle loading...
If I use #4 or #5 shot instead of 7.5, 8, or 9 in light field/trap type reloads:
Will the pattern diameter with the larger shot tend to be either larger or smaller?
Will the pattern with the larger shot tend to be either more uniform or less?
Thanks for any comments! :)
