I'm trying to reconcile my firearms records and could use an assist. I'm trying to figure out the manufacturer and model of a firearm with serial number LEK53XX, if possible. Do you recognize the type of firearm that would have had that serial number? Thanks for any assistance.
I'm getting tired of using canned air for spraying DuraCoat. I've stayed away from using my hotdog compressor because it doesn't have an inline moisture or oil trap and I worry about contaminating the DuraCoat.
Is this a realistic concern or am I over-thinking it? I am going to call LCW...
Stopped by the LGS today on the way home from picking up a $50 part for a Pontiac Vibe...walked out with a Winchester 1200, 18" "Riot"-marked barrel...$125 OTD. Do these things really command that little respect in our market? My first shotgun was a 1200 with a 26" Winchoke barrel, a Christmas...
If you had a chance to buy a pre-owned, unfired M1A at an attractive price, and it had a synthetic stock, what would you do?
My vote is buy the rifle then buy a decent walnut stock from Fred's...I am interested in your opinions, especially if you disagree (please give reasons) - thanks.
With all the discussion about the new Ithaca guns coming out of Ohio, I thought these pictures of the demolition of the historical and historic Ithaca plant might be interesting (if saddening) to many here. One hundred and thirty years - gone in almost a blink.
The pics are here: LINK
Found an old 870 20" smoothbore slug barrel with rifle sights while reorganizing things in the basement. The rear sight is a pretty useless (to my eyes) blade on a very solid base that appears to be brazed or silver soldered to the barrel. I'm wondering if anyone has ever seen any alternative...
Courtesy of Bart's and FN, I received my long-awaited tri-rail extension yesterday. Determination of the best light is ongoing. This is a very nice piece of gear that will add to the flexibility and utility of an excellent shotgun. Here's two quick snaps:
You know, the one that stows in the black plastic buttstock and floats? A friend is looking at buying one in nice shape made by the original Charter Arms company. I'm wondering what you know about reliability, problems, etc. Any comments on price would also be welcome supplements to the...
Wondering if anyone is using the Silver Bear ammo, especially the metallic-cased .410? Would be interested in any reports on these, especially the slug loads.
Hello all...I'm an experienced metallic reloader (35+ years) but have never reloaded a shotshell in my life. I recently bought a NIB Winchester 9410 and it's clear I need to reload if I'm going to shoot this much. So...the question is, what do I need to get set up for reloading .410 shells...
The new 700 XCR Compact Tactical looks like it's essentially a clone of the 700P LTR. They weigh the same, have 20" fluted heavy barrels. The LTR stock is HS Precision while according to something I read on the Remington website the XCR Compact Tactical is a Bell & Carlson stock, but the...
edit: the reference to the Kahr is because it used to be (maybe still is?) the case that Kahrs took several hundred rounds to break in to the point where they'd function reliably...as you'll see, this FN SLP reminds me of that process with my MK9.
I've been looking for a gas gun for a while...
I just read almost every post here on the 1201FP. It's not a gun you hear much about any more...I know they were discontinued several years back. You also don't see them for sale much. Do they suffer by comparison with the Benellis today? (They didn't back when they were still in...
Local shop has an LT20...thing is, the serial number makes it a late 1960s gun, but nothing else matches, I think...would appreciate any data you all have, since I don't have any catalogs from that period left around here. The stock is a walnut straight grip ("English") stock - I don't think...
I mentioned this in another thread and got curious and have tried to research what it was I saw and am coming up blank. I wonder if any of you can help?
I saw an 1100 yesterday that I think was kind of unusual - the barrel, at least. It was a 20 gauge with an 18" factory barrel with a vent...
Other than the relatively obvious (bore/cylinder alignment, carryup, lockup, headspace, b/c gap, endplay, off the top of my head), is there any reason not to use a random Ruger Single Six .22 magnum cylinder on a Single Six?
Wondering if the .30-06 Prvi Partizan 150gr FMJ load is OK in a Garand? I'm thinking not just of velocity and chamber pressure but pressure levels at the gas port. Thanks for any info.
