you want the whole front sight fully in view, in the center of the aperture.

hope this helps,

for $200 dollars I would jump on it 100%
Generally any swiss rifle with a .308 barrel was owned by a swiss competiton shooter, and was re-barreled by a swiss 'smith when the 7.5x55 barrel was shot out.
this means the rifle was generally shot a lot, and was pretty darn accurate.
(at least...
M4 feedramps are basically extended feedramps that go farther down into the reciever extension as well as the barrel. theyre a little wider than standard feedramps as well.
basically, if your reciever extension has M4 feedramps, and your barrel does too, your GTG.
a M4 extension with a...
im not sure if this is the problem, but you might have the rear sight tightened down on a cant.
I had the same problem with my Matech when i put it on my BCM, and was wondering why in the hell it was shooting a foot to the left!
(didnt figure out it was canted until i got home from the...
you dont need to.
I like to clean mine every couple hundred, but frankly you dont even need that.
these guns will run VERY dirty if you keep them lubed properly.
look at pat rodgers from EAG, his filthy 14 is around the 35,000 round mark with lube and very minimal cleaning.
unless...
yep, as others have said, just shoot the crap out of it.
but as you have already done that, i hope you have fun with it,
i know i did with mine!:neener::D
glad it turned out a winner,
Kenny
if youre willing to spend the extra dough, I spent $550 or so on my complete BCM midlength upper, with BCM bolt group and charging handle. (and magpul MOE handguards)
if it were me, id save up a little more and get one of these or something like it. You wont regret it, and it will last a...
oldest ive shot is german 8mm from 1936.
commercial ammo might be a little less reliable, but ive still shot boxes of .243 winchester from the 70's, and have had friends shoot mid-50's .30-06 remington kleenbore with no problems.
as long as the cases arent corroded, and dont have any...
you can easily find german K98's (russian captures) for somewhere in the 350-400 dollar range. thats what i would suggest doing.
Its what i did, and its one of the best, smoothest bolt guns i own.
sounds like some good shootin tex!
i havent shot in two weeks, sadly :(
hopefully should get the blaster out to fire a couple in the next few days though....
Ive shot some class III funguns before as well, and i think thats some of the funnest shooting ive ever done.
hope you had...
if it were me, Id leave the rifle alone and just deal with the cocking piece safety on it now.
if you want a "safe" surplus rifle then buy a mauser.
but hey, its your rifle, so if you want it, then get it.
just my 2 cents,
Kenny
definitely what z-michigan said
all four are top notch companies/manufacturers
(daniel defense, LMT, Noveske, and BCM)
and in my opinion are way better than anything in there price range.
you can buy a killer bcm/ DD/ LMT build for right around the same general price that you can buy...
yup, i noticed the barrel weight too. I was trying to decide between a govt profile and a pencil profile but ended up going with the govt.
i can only see a small difference between the handling of my carbine vs. one with a pencil profile, but maybe ive just gotten used to it.
where did you...
the magazine was initially concepted to be used only as a reserve ammunition source.
several bolt action rifles (notably the Krag and 03 springfield) have magazine cutoffs intended so troops using the rifle would not "waste" ammo...
