    Which 1911

STI. Made a visit to their facility in Texas over the summer. Good people. Heck they opened the safe for me to fondle whatever I wanted. Sold a Sig Tac-Ops Traditional to fund the purchase of a STI Duty One 5.0. The Sig was a fine pistol but the STI is much more better!!

    Which 1911 should I get?

+1 on the Sig. Look at the Traditional models if you do not want the square Sig profile slide. You get a lot of features for a good price. The trigger on my Tac-Ops Traditional was much better feeling to me than the Rugers, Colts I've handled at my LGS. Springfields were good as well. Also...

Thoughts on the S&W M&P Shield

I agree with everyone else. However, I installed the Apex trigger/duty kit and Warren Tactical sights on mine. Those minor upgrades were money well spent IMO. Like Madcap said it is a great carry gun, light, slim concealable.

    1911 holster

Kirkpatrick Leather or R. Grizzle has some nice leather holsters and belts. I got a Kirkpatrick Texas Strong Side holster and a Ranger belt coming soon. R. Grizzle also has some nice leather trimmed in exotic that look real good as well. Like has been mentioned before, there are a blue...

Anyone use a boat to access hunting grounds?

I have been thinking about this as well. I am looking at either a Nucanoe Frontier 12 or a traditional canoe with the capability of adding a trolling motor, like an Old Town. This will be used for accessing new deer hunting areas. I get tired of sitting in box stands. I would also like to...

Instead of a Dakota and a Swarovski

Nice looking rifle !!!!! I love my 7-08 select grade as well. This is my second Kimber rifle and both were accurate and reliable.

    LA Hog

Typical southern pine forrest/paper company land. Actually my food plot is 264 yards long on a power line, but yes it is thick. Swampy as all get out now, we've had lots of rain lately. They had a 330 lb'er hanging at the camp a couple days ago. It's a shame we've killed almost as many hogs...

    LA Hog

Shot this 160 lb sow yesterday morning at 110 yards. Used a Kimber 84 M 7mm-08 with a 140 gr Fusion. She went 20 yards and piled up with a high double lung shot. These things have really taken over our lease this year. they are eating 50 lbs of corn in less than 12 hours. It will be game...

    The JC Higgins Model 31

Feels like the hammer is causing pressure on the rear of the bolt. Everything is smooth until you put action back in. Would that still be an extractor issue? Thank you for your assistance. I would like to get this one up and running to give to my youngest, as I got it from my Dad.

    The JC Higgins Model 31

    The JC Higgins Model 31

It's clean. I'll check the extractor. It has had a blue million rounds through it BTW.

    The JC Higgins Model 31

My Model 29 won't fully go into battery. The bolt hangs up about the last 1/16 or 1/8 inch and has to be pushed the rest of the way. Any ideas? It stumped the last smith I took it to.

    30-o6 Fusion Ammo

Shot a deer last week at 100yarsd with 140 grain 7-08. Center punched the shoulders, DRT and could eat right up to the hole!
