Thanks for the input Spin 180 and Lee Lapin, I just got home from the gun shop. Went with the 870 HD with factory mag tube extension. Feels and shoulders great! Stopped at Wally and picked up a case of shells. Think I'll go run a box through it before dark. Be safe!

I found the 870 express hd for $299 plus they have the $25 rebate going on right now. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me since it already has the factory mag extenstion on it. It will be a home defense gun so I think the finish will withstand the treatment I will give it.

I'm thinking about getting an 870 marine magnum. Someone told me that they will not accept all 870 accessories. Does anyone have any experience with these. I would mainly consider a pistol grip butt stock and a side saddle. Thanks, malada

I'll be interested to hear your reports. It just so happens that my next two gun purchases will be Kimber TLE and home defense shotgun. Not sure about the accessory rail on the Kimber yet. Does it fit in a regular holster ok without accessories?
