    An overlooked survival tool

Ohh, don't take my post the wrong way. I wasn't in any way saying that the .177 caliber air rifle is a better survival tool than a .22. The 22 LR is a great survival tool. You can move up to deer, and even people with that one. Ammo is indeed fairly cheap, and easy to store in bulk, and they...

Drinking & competitive shooting performance edge?...

Drinking makes me better at pool. Just enough for a decent buzz. anymore i start to play worse than when I'm actually sober. You can't get much worse at pool than me sober. Now, mixing alchohol with guns. I've gotten myself drunk a few times with my gun on my hip or under my arm. I've never...

noticed an interesting contradiction in posts recently.

I've only had a few problem guns. Worst problem gun I ever had was a baby eagle. This gun jammed every other bullet, and the most dangerous of all. when you used the hammer drop, it fired the round. I took it back to where i got it. That's the best thing to do with disfunctional firearms...

    An overlooked survival tool

You can get a good pellet gun from Walmart for under $40.00. Scope is not neccessary. That's only about 2000 rounds of 22.

    An overlooked survival tool

Hello. I feel I should talk about this keen insight I had about an important survival tool that is often overlooked. I know a lot of gun nuts(like myself) but usually, when we talk survival, we're mostly just talking about AR's and 5.56. Or bows. One thing I have noticed, is that the .177...

    Do Suppressors Hinder Ballistic Performance?

I have like, 0 experience when it comes to silencers. Pretty much, the only thing I know about silencers that I didn't pick up from a Don Pendleton book, or a Tom Clancy book, is that they aren't supposed to be that hard to make if you have a tool and die. but, my thoughts are. Even if they...

    Cane was no good there!

This guys behavior is a bloody shame. I've actually sat near the "old guys" in restruants who are eating alone and struck up conversations before. Granted, I probably shouldn't, as I don't really look that good. My hair is usually a mess, my face needing a shave, and my hands are chewed up and...

    The gun, sword, & quill

I think the Quill represents your thought. Your thought is who you are, your secret self that exists inside your head. You get your thoughts out there through writing. The Quill is ideas and concepts. The Sword is your action, the things you do in daily life. Cutting away what isn't...

Ever have to defend yourself in dreams?

I have dreams like this fairly often. Usually, Whenever I have to draw my pistol and fire, the trigger is so insanely hard to pull, it throws my aim off. In one dream, I was being attacked by a wild dog, and I couldn't shoot it because of that, I ended up pulling my belt knife and killing it...

What makes someone a mall ninja?

The zombie thing... It's a saying. "If you're ready for zombies, you're ready for anything." Basically, means stockpiling lots of ammo, and preparing for "the worst" to happen. It can't get worse than Zombies... soo you should prepared for them

    Is it nerves ?

It's not age, I'm only 26. I'll definitely try this dry firing thing, and I did learn to breathe when i shoot. My dad taught me that when i was still little. It's not caliber specific either, it's every handgun i pick up.

    Is it nerves ?

Hello everyone. Been lurking for a little while. Havn't been able to do much shooting. But, one thing that bothers me, is when I go to use a pistol, my hands start shaking, and it really throws off my aim a lot. The first few shots, no problem. Smooth as silk, dead on target. But after that...

    HST ballistics, help ?

Hello. Lately, I was talking to one of my friends about the 140-someting grain Federal HST rounds... but I can't seem to find ballistics on these rounds. Google is not being my friend with searching for this. So, I'm asking, do any of you guys know the ballistics of this round ?

    M1 Garand question

I've never had a problem dry firing any weapon... except a muzzle loader 'cause dry firing those flattens the nipple.

What to do with a Russian SKS 7.62

I love my SKS. It belonged to my Grandad. I put a Druganov stock on it and it's a joy to shoot. I ended up losing the cleaning rod bayonette somewhere though. What you need now, are Stripper Clips. Keep the 10 shot mag box on it unless you plan to get a conversion kit for it to take AK mags...

HANDGUNS overbuilt for the caliber they fire?

The Germans actually made a 9mm modeled after the 1911. It's called a Radom. We had one for a long time before my dad sold it. I really liked it, but he didn't. I guess that was all that mattered, ehh ? But, it was a neat gun.

    .32 vs .22LR for Self-Defense

I'm gonna have to be unoriginal and say get the Kel-tec. They are very nice pistols, and very easy to conceal. In my opinion, it's one of the best self-defense guns you can get, because of it's size. .32 might look small, and people talk about it's stopping power... but you put some Gold Dots in...

    .38 Ammo question

I think that's a neat little gun. I would definitely carry one. You can carry a .22 LR effectively for self defense.... it doesn't take much to stop a fight, or kill someone.
