I see you've already got it out, but here's a tip nobody mentioned. Since it's a muzzleloader, just drop a lit match down the bore. The temp isn't nearly as high as gunpowder when fired, so no damage to the bore. The rag burns and falls out charred. No big deal, no scratches in your barrel...
