    Ricochet - Sometimes it hurts.

A nurse told me tetanus shots were only needed if whatever punctured you had at some point contacted fecal matter (animal or otherwise).

Cleaning rag stuck in barrel! Need help!!!

I see you've already got it out, but here's a tip nobody mentioned. Since it's a muzzleloader, just drop a lit match down the bore. The temp isn't nearly as high as gunpowder when fired, so no damage to the bore. The rag burns and falls out charred. No big deal, no scratches in your barrel...

how do you avoid flash rust when pan drying?

There wouldn't have been a fuss if it weren't for the sticky. I would have cleaned them like any of my other guns (and will from now on) but I trusted the sticky since I was new to BP and I learned a valuable lesson - everyone on the internet is an 'expert'. As far as I'm concerned, the topic...

If it helps you sleep at night, I recanted my statement earlier. But by all means, take all the exception you like - I'm giving them away free today.

    Uberti 3rd Model Dragoon Review

A few weeks ago I traded for this Dragoon. I had the opportunity to take it out and test it this weekend, including introducing several people to both it and shooting in general. I was using .454 round balls through it and they were easy to load without a stand and gave just enough...

how do you avoid flash rust when pan drying?

Yeah, I was frustrated, sure. Understandably so. I recant my statement about the author of that post. If it works for him, fine, but it didn't for me. I'll just have to play around with this Uberti 3rd Model Dragoon and figure out what it likes. Thanks to all who replied.

how do you avoid flash rust when pan drying?

Why am I doing all these strange things you might ask? Well, because this idiot said to and he's been stickied on this forum... http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=65820 What else is a newbie to do? PS. the Dragoon is fine now. I'll just keep an eye on it. Pretty humid around here.

how do you avoid flash rust when pan drying?

Hi all, Took my Dragoon out for a test spin today (more on that later). I had it under hot running water, scrubbed it down looking great. It's in the oven now for about 7 minutes to dry out (175 degrees) and I look in and it's got rust developing. Taking it out now to scrape that off, but...

Revolver identification in Jesse James Picture

He's got it through a loop and is twisting it up for us to see that he's packing 3 guns. The picture makes much more sense seen in the right direction, by swapping the sides horizontally. It also looks like he was fiddling with it during the exposure time, because his hand is a bit more...

    Load table for C&B revolvers

Hello all, I have searched several forums and the holy google to no avail. I'm looking for a good chart that outlines the difference (if there is one) in loading loose powder substitues and how it compares to real black powder. My ideal chart would have something like: (please disregard...
