When I first got my S&W 60-4, I just went out and bought any old ammo I could get my hands on, basically because I had no idea what I was doing. And now I have four boxes of full metal jacket rounds sitting on the shelf that are probably not the best for what I need, which I know because now I'm...
Can anyone help with this question - A friend of mine owns a place in upstate NY but is a legal resident of another state. She also owns a handgun and would like to bring it with her when she stays in upstate NY - can she do that? This is not about carrying; she just wants to have the gun at the...
I can't remember which forum member told me that I'd want to get it just so if I wanted to carry my gun, I could (not necessarily that I would all the time) - and he was right!
Here's the target from my test, double-action with my S&W 60-4, shooting as fast as I could.
I need to get more...
On the one hand, a loaded gun next to the bed seems like a good idea but what about when the nightstand is next to someone who sleepwalks? Is there a device you can put on a revolver to prevent the trigger from being pulled unintentionally, but which is also very easy to remove in the dark in a...
UPDATED W/ PICS I have a lot of love for my new S&W revolver - but is it defective?
My revolver arrived yesterday - S&W model 60-4 (as soon as I get pics, I'll post them). It is sweeter than honey. But ... there is something with the cylinder that I'm not sure about. None of the other revolvers...
My new purchase will be here in a few days and I can't wait to share pictures!
All along I've been saying I wasn't planning to carry, but I've changed my mind. Well, I should say I want to get my permit so that if and when I want to carry, I can.
Does anyone have first-hand knowledge of...
I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I ran across a Chief's Special on Saturday, a nice little gun. The gentleman referred to it as a "target" gun. Could someone tell me what that means exactly? How does that differ from a non-target gun, and would a "target" model gun still be a decent...
Does this sound right to you?
Model 60-10
3" barrel
full underlug
excellent condition, cylinder nice and tight
barrel isn't pinned, but it's a prelock model
a bit of a cylinder ring but not bad, otherwise cosmetically perfect
$700 (total)
Thank you for your input.
Every person who recommended I shoot several guns before deciding on what I want was right. I had a lot of ideas about what I thought I might want but a lot of those fell out of the running last night.
But what a blast!! I see why you guys love target shooting, and I never saw the attraction...
You probably get pleas like this all the time.. anyway, I'll try to be brief. I do not know anything about handguns (I have an over/under 12 ga shotgun that I shoot pretty well) but now I want something a little smaller, to keep bedside or take with me when I go camping.
I have been looking...
