    Bersa

The only trouble I have with mine is when you remove the mag if you look at it wrong, the slide will slam closed. I think it has something to do with the slide release being worn. No, I don't use the release to close but it has worn over time. Wish this was something I could repair.

    Bersa vs. Bersa

Saw a Bersa Thunder 380 at the shop today and it was sans key lock. If anyone has one of these, are they better, worse, or indifferent than the "lock" versions? Anyone know when they stopped making the version without the F/S lock?

    Question regarding a Bersa 85

The guys over on Bersa Chat said this was normal. Changed my mind about this one when I found out the mags are $75 to $100 IF you can find them.

    Question regarding a Bersa 85

I saw a Bersa 85 at the gun show today and it was decently priced but I noticed that when you remove the magazine, the trigger goes limp and will move front to back very loosely with no resistance. Put the magazine back in and it's fine. Is this some sort of safety feature? If so, I may see if...

    Best .357 Ammo

I have the SP101 and I carry with Golden Saber .38's. Very good round. .357 is a little stout with the recoil but a good 38 will suffice. Golden Saber is a good home defense round as it has less muzzle flash.

    Federal .45 FMJ ammo

Shot both yesterday and couldn't tell the difference. At $16 a box I'm not complaining.

    Federal .45 FMJ ammo

Also wasn't sure if this will affect primer strike. mine seems to hit just a little off center. Guess I will see next range trip.

What is the significance of SPP vs. LPP?

    Federal .45 FMJ ammo

Is it customary for manufacturers to use different size primers for the same caliber? I will try to post pics of what I mean. The box I bought today looks as if the bullet heads were hand polished to a bright shine and had smaller primers. These were purchased at a local Walmart. If the photos...

    what causes G.A.S.?

G.A.S.? B.E.A.N.S. Sorry, had to. One always has to look at the application of their collection, be it plinking, carry, home defense. I suffer from it and have one of each but it took a few to finally decide on which ones are keepers. My condition has leveled off somewhat for now. (Operative...

    gun show prices

After dealing with guns, coins and gold, the old adage is true. Anything is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it at that time.

    gun show prices

That used to be the draw to gun shows years ago when you could get a good deal. Now, ammo, magazines, etc. are priced at shows so that you could get a better deal at the local Walmart or Academy Sports on the way to the show. I'm not saying you should give your product away but when it is used...

    New purchase

Took advantage of my state's(S.C.) 2nd Amendment Tax Free weekend today and purchased a S&W 4566 .45 to accompany my 5906. Can't wait for my next range trip. Anyone have a 4566? Comments from personal use?

    Smith and Wesson 5906 sights

I have a S&W 5906 with the high profile adjustable sights and was wondering if these can be changed to the Novak Lo profile sights. I just think the high profile tends to distract me.

what kind of round is this?

Got a LITTLE closer to figuring out what this thing is. Showed it to some guys at the local VFW and they said it looked like a round from possibly a Vickers type small gun that was used to "clear" the trenches and pillboxes. The micrometer readings are as follows: bullet dia.- 23mm, rim dia.-...

    Cleaning Cylinders

Sorry. Overread your post. .357 is the caliber.

    Cleaning Cylinders

What caliber is it? If it is a .357 and has seen a lot of .38's, you have a carbon ring built up in the chambers. There's another post here dealing with the issue but above all else, BE CAREFUL not to use any chemical or method that will damage your investment. The post is in "Revolvers".

what kind of round is this?

rcmodel- The projectile IS steel, checked it with a magnet. Approximately 1/4 inch down the nose is a faint line all the way around. Doesn't LOOK like it would screw off but I'm not messing with it. What the heck is this thing! And what was it fired out of?

what kind of round is this?

It is a centerfire round. Vaguely able to make out a 5 and 4 on the base. Head appears to be brass. Will post more info as I can find it.

what kind of round is this?

I found this in a box lot at an estate sale today. The salt shaker is for scale. The round is approximately 3 inches tall and 1 inch wide and very heavy. Any ideas?
