I was wondering if anyone uses a 3 die set for straight wall taper crimp rounds, like the 9mm or 45acp, etc? I tried it for the first time last night on 45 acp with a RCBS 3 die set. I fired them this AM with no problems & satisfactory accuracy.
I load on an old turret press & anything that...
I've been having problems since I started reloading recently with hand me down reloading equipment. The equipment seems fine but when I tried to load 45ACP I ran into problems crimping & seating. I have an RCBS 3-Die TC set for .45 auto & am trying to load 160 G lead SWC/FP bullets. I finally...
I purchased a DW Patriot 1911 about eight years ago & fired several boxes of factory FMJ & HP bullets. It was flawless. It's been in a safe until recently. I shoot 22lr with a Bullseye club. They also shoot their 45's after 22 practice. I decided to join them with my 45 & started reloading...
I own a DW Patriot 1911 45, purchased new several years ago. Hardly ever fired it until recently. Took it down to clean it & the Barrel link pin fell out each time. Now it's so loose I can't put the pistol back together. If I tilt the gun even slightly when trying to put the slide stop in, the...
I have an older Lyman T-Mag turret press with the Lyman auto prime system. I've used the primer a few times & have found it to have a lot of hiccups that slow it down. Anyone else here use this primer system successfully? Are there other systems I can incorporate into the press that wouldn't...
I'm new to reloading & have gotten a wealth of info here already. Thanks. I feel like a sponge that needs to soak it all up. I'm looking for recommended powders for reloading mostly light loads in 38 spl.,9mm, 45 colt & 45ACP. The 45ACP will be for bullseye shooting. I'm going to load mostly...
I'm new to reloading using hand me down Lyman equipment which seems in good shape. The Lyman 55 powder measure seems to be inconsistant. I read the instructions carefully & was wondering if .2 to .25 grains off in either direction is normal for the powders I'm using. 2.8 grains of Clays & 4.6...
I'm new to reloading. I have hand me down equipment, including several RCBS carbide die sets. The 45LC dies were pretty gruddy, so I sprayed them with Brake Parts Cleaner. Should I use any kind of lube on them? I don't see a crimp die in the set. At least it wasn't marked Crimp. Does 45LC need...
I was given a couple thousand Lg. Pistol Mag. primers & want to use them in a very light cowboy load. Either 4.6G Clays or a light Trailboss load with a 200 G lead bullet for my 45colt revolver. All the recipes call for Lg. Pistol primers. How will the Mag. primers affect the loads?
